Is Sweden's batshit social tolerance a remnant of old viking values? From what I know the vikings were significantly more gender egalitarian than other European societies at the time and viking warriors practiced homosexuality.

Also from what I understand central European Germanica executed homosexuals so what made vikings so different from the rest? (although I could be wrong about that, I haven't really read into it)

Which is not at all.

Vikings were a band of ruthless warriors who pillaged and raped soft targets, only to get rekt by standing armies.

Of course, during the 18-19ths centuries the Vikings were Romanticized, especially by people like Wagner.

As for modern Sweden, I think the two World Wars had plenty to do with it, much like the rest of Europe.

Ever since then Europe in general has been hesitant to really get violent, but Sweden is probably the most pacified.

Why is Sweden that way? I'm not sure.

Swedish history is foreign to me, as is its culture.

Could very well have been a ticking time bomb.

before romans all europe(except greek cities) especially northern europe was like this, it's not because muh genetics it's because geography climates.

do you think greeks and romans coul have history like that if they have lived in scandinavia and baltics? of course no, medditerenean and silk road was number 1 key to prosperisty at those times.
