Copypasta from the /b/ thread

Following on from the rather successful thread the other day, i present to you "UNSECURED IP CAM TIEM 2". I tried a lot of the links from the other thread and most are down so i will start afresh.

HOW IT WORKS:

Simply put the IP links provided into your browser. If you are using chrome/firefox, follow the "server push" link and enter the credentials provided. In order to hear audio, and interact via microphone (which can be epic as fuck) you will need to use Internet Explorer and enable your activex in the browser security settings (i know, i know IE is shit, but in this case it makes for some incredible trolling). This is highly recommended for shits and giggles.

If you have an ipad, i recommend downloading CAMVIEWER. It takes a little longer to set the cams up, but you can hear sound AND send sounds to 99% of all cams posted. It really is worth it, especially if you get the £2 upgrade ($2.49 maybe?).

>ALL CAMS ARE "admin/no password" UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

Instructions on how to find your own cam links will be in the next post.

In order to find unsecured cam links, go to http://www.shodanhq.com.

The query to enter in the search field begins with "netwave ip camera". This will give you five pages of search results in reverse date order. I highly recommend signing up for a free account, which will give you more results and will also give you search filters to play with so you can search by city, country and even find cams near you.

A paid account gives you unlimited searches and filters. i have one, and i can't recommend it enough. It also gives you credits to use around the site on things which i haven't even figured the fuck out yet.

Now, onto the filters. First go to http://www.iso.org/iso/country_names_and_code_elements . This will give you the two digit code for all countries which will come in handy next. To search by country use the query:

>"netwave IP camera country:XX"

Where "xx" is the two digit code of your choice. To search certain cities, which gets real interesting, use the query:

>netwave IP camera city:"city"

where "city" is, obviously, the city of your choice.

You will find that many cams have been left with a default user, which nine times out of ten is admin with no password. Some may be admin/123 or even admin/admin. It is quite laborious to search, but i think you'll find highly worth it as you have the choice of whether to share them, or keep them to yourself.

>> Anonymous 01/12/14(Sun)15:21:56 UTC-8 No.526681970 File: 1389568916910.jpg-(116 KB, 800x500, image.jpg) 116 KB

A couple more important things: first be patient. Some cams take a while to load, particularly if there is more than one user trying to access them at once. They may also take longer if they are on the other side of the world from you. If you get a blank screen or it seems like it is loading forever, try closing the browser and trying again, or simply come back to it later.

Secondly, if you are worried at all about your IP being logged, EVERY SINGLE CAMERA has a reset option which will completely flush the IP log. Experience tells me, however, that if peole are too retarded to put a password on their camera, they are in no way capable enough of even accessing the settings of their cam, let alone knowing what the fuck an IP log is. I tend not to worry about this too much, but I get asked it alot. You will find the reset in settings/maintenance, depending on the model of camera.

Oh, you WILL come across cams that are in the rooms of sleeping babies (especially in the USA). I can't stop you, but i don't post these. I think that crosses a line personally, but each to their own.

Also first question

Whats the deal with cameras you can find on google?

There is a whole site with a keyword list.
http://members.upc.nl/a.horlings/doc-google.html

And for example
inurl:"viewerframe?mode=motion"

I get some hits but i cant use that ip in my camera view app on my iPad

Is this a different system? How can i use these kind of webcams?

you can use google dorks like:

inurl:serverpush.htm

…to find cams. all of the cams that i've seen, um, accessed use the foscam firmware, which coincides with the above dork. there are tons of other manufacturers out there and, presumably, other exploits. Or, many of them might just be open.

Yeah, that is from a thread I started on halfchan, possibly over two years ago. Shodan.io is a relatively new version, and it's much quicker, and for some reason returns more results, certainly more active ones at least.

As posted in yesterday's thread on /b/, here is the custom WebUI if you want the hidden eight user and disabled ID logs. It does change the cam to a specific software version, so people who aren't completely retarded may notice the change of interface when they log back into their cams and you could be rumbled, which is why i suggest this for cams you really want to keep, to the point of it being worth risking detection to keep a hidden user.

stupid question but:

how can I download the html? I just let it load for like 3 minutes, stop it and then search for "nist" inside the browser itself

it mostly works but maybe I'm losing some precious time there

the "Save As" only works if I load the page entirely before saving so it's useless

I think most Windows users use uget to save the file locally. Mac and Linux users can use curl.

Put the proc/kore URL into uget and it will download what it can. If it's 4mb+ then you're good to go. Doing it in the browser is really slow and laborious I find.

Also notepad++ filters out the username and password wonderfully, making it several times as easy to locate.

I'd like to add:

- 4 MB should be enough of the file, you don't need 5. I have yet to encounter one where I needed more than 4 MB, but it's up to you how much you want to download.

- I found searching for the name of the device more effective than searching for time.nist.gov or admin.
You can find out the name by going to the cam's IP, clicking Cancel until it doesn't ask for the credentials anymore, and looking at the title of the page. The title is always Device(NAME)where NAME is the name you need.

oh… a couple of other things. first, you should only need slightly over 4MB so feel free to kill it at 4.1 or so. second, keep searching "nist" or "admin" several times. for "nist" it's usually near the third entry.

That's pretty cool, however the timeout thing is fucking annoying. I wonder what the OP image means when he says he wrote a byte-by-byte downloader to overcome this?

I have tried using

wget –start-pos=3m

and
wget -c

But it looks like the shitty camera serve cannot handle resuming downloads or starting at an offset.

ce4ef5 No.243

>>242

i actually don't know what based joe meant here but i think the byte by byte part ensures that the file stays intact regardless of when it times out.

/proc/kcore is a pointer to system memory, as i understand it, not a real file. so i don't think it's possible to resume the download – the file is constantly changing.

Port scan feature on this website is useful for checking which port the camera is on after finding it on Shodan

http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.asp

ce4ef5 No.245

>>244
funny, i was just doing this. shodan found a cam on :82 and what i saw was interesting so i checked :80, :83, :83 and so on.

also typical are :8000 and :8080 so if you see a cam on :8082 there are probably multiple cams on that IP at :8080, :8081… you get the idea.

4fe099 No.246

Interesting, I have a feeling that the tool I posted only searches common ports and doesn't scan the whole range as I have never found an oddball port open by using it. Only ever 80 or 8080.

Are there any other online port scanners which will do a range? I'm too paranoid to do a port scan from my PC.

ce4ef5 No.247

>>246
unless you have a known target, port scanning isn't worth your time. standard practice is to use 80, 8000 and 8080… then go sequentially from there. so if there's a cam on 8082, there's probably also one on 8080 and 8081.

if someone has taken the precaution of forwarding a random port, good on them. they have a clue.

shodan scans plenty of potentially open ports but if you want something to scan a range, just google it. there are plenty of tools.

networkfags,

i have an ip that switches between two cams about every 5 minutes. the ip doesn't change and the cams aren't listening on multiple ports as far as i can tell.

is it possible to configure port forwarding at the router level to switch cams based on a time increment?

it's annoying because one cam is a nursery and the other is the master bedroom.

any experience with multicam config where the cams listen on a single ip?

File: 1422877160291.png (63.23 KB, 887x857, 887:857, ipcam secrecy boost.png)

Some pretty basic secrecy stuff for people just getting started, done in Korean, because a ton of the Korean cams are open/don't require kcore poppin'/have semi-plausible deniability/gray area, and I assume you don't want to change the iface language to English with every cam you use. If you aren't sure how to start doing this, look for Korean cams. Probably almost half have the default admin/no pass combo.

* Turning flashing LED off

* Disabling return to set position after reboot

* Rebooting (for those who may still not know)

Note that for whatever reason this interface seems to not work properly with the IE ActiveX version. So it seems you must use Push mode for modifying settings, and IE or an external controller for sound/mic use.

Also, some devices seem to be set with this as the default:

admin
123456

If admin/blank fails and you hit cancel, and especially if it gives you a message about invalid password (plaintext, no menu of any kind), then give this a try. After all, it seems there is no lockout for too many attempts, so doesn't hurt.

I've noticed this on Netcury and some other brands (the Netcury ones start with NC in the model#). Also, Japan seems to have a fair number of cameras with admin/123456 set as default.

Unfortunately, Japan in general has a fairly high number of passworded cams in comparison to other East Asian countries.

File: 1425105466834.jpg (2.29 MB, 7330x4124, 3665:2062, vector world map.jpg)

Some help when searching Shodan using country codes. To find country codes, first check your world map. See pic, also found at http://www.vectorworldmap.com/vectormaps/vector-world-map-v2.1.jpg

Then search this page for the 2 digit code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2

Now you can easily try cams in any country, including the lesser-known ones. Many still use default l/p, so you don't have to worry about grabbing kcore. Note that in addition to the usual admin/(no pass), many cams also use admin/123456, and a smaller number use admin/12345.

Shodan lets you use many advanced filters when searching. One of these filters is filtering by date (before: and after:).

Because the results are returned to you in descending order by date, simply use the before: filter with the date of the last entry on the 5th page. You will get pages 6 through 10 (now 1 through 5 in your search results). Repeat as often as you like to continue getting search results whenever you reach the 5th page.

Ex: Netwave IP Camera before:28/02/2015

There are a lot of other nice filters you can use. city: is well-known. content-length: is god-mode if you know what you're doing (I'm busy recording some data on this, with some great starting results). And geo: lets you search within the vicinity of a specific latitude and longitude.

ok, i've never written a shell script before so if any anons want to help out it would be much appreciated.

i've been thinking about the automation problem and it occurred to me that if you can check the HTTP response codes for default u/p password combos you could just send a request to the CGI script on the cam (like you would with VLC) and keep the ones that don't return an authentication challenge (401).

and it works.

i'm going to refine from here to:

1. pass in a manufacturer argument to limit the attempts to only the default for that particular cam… to speed things up

2. only write successful response codes to the out file

3. attempt /proc/kcore on requests where all defaults fail and truncate the download at 4mb

EDIT:

sed -i '/401 |/d' ./iplistout.txt

shut up.

UPDATED PASTEBIN LINKS IN TOOLS THREAD

http://8ch.net/ipcam/res/553.html

Some major improvements… v.3.

initial test using targets on the other side of the world yielded about 7 IPs per minute processed with a 30% hit rate on default u/p.

thanks to donkus for the tech support!

Really nice!

Was going to say, you could just dump the 401 responses to a separate file. Of course you could only be trying one password combo for this. But if trying defaults it's better to target one kind of cam/default login anyhow, like you mention rigging it to do.

Then you could have a separate script to download the kcore from the 401s. That way you could operate either just looking for defaults, or trying to hit kcore. (Or, just hand the list off to someone who wants to do it manually. I'd be interested, depending on where the cams are located.)

If you wanted to be really fancy, you could run the kpop download script on a cron job, check if the 401 file was empty every 5 min or so, and if not, strip the last line off of it and attempt a download.

It would take a ton of work, but it could technically be almost fully automated. Run a query on shodan every hour checking for new cams of a certain type. Parse out the cam links with the right regex. Feed them into the IP list, which is then processed by the IP list processor, probably also on its own cronjob. Then the kcore downloader gets the leftovers.

At that point you just sit back and get every single cam within an hour or so of it being located!

No worries, removed.

Good point, though. I always check for motion alarms but I've never even looked for the LED. I haven't been rustled too often so maybe the default setting is OFF.

Nice speakers!

http://8ch.net/ipcam/res/129.html#q261

^ This anon says something about headphones held up to the mic on your computer.

Also, your OS probably has some software that will let you patch an audio stream directly to the mic. I've never done this but it looks fairly easy to do on Linux with Audacity, which is available for Mac and Windows.

Or, and I'm just guessing here but I might try it, I wonder if you could just use a male-to-male 3.5mm jack to plug your headphone out directly into your mic in?

Stereo mix should work, yep. Best quality too.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/39532/how-to-enable-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-to-record-audio/

Disable your mic and all other recording devices except stereo mix before opening IE (or the webcam software you're using).

93885d No.637

Re: feedback, make sure to disable listening to the stream before recording. Though sometimes it can still feed back a bit.

Another option is use Virtual Audio Cable. Then rewire just the audio output program to a specific virtual cable, and set that as the sole input.

this shit is illegal right? what if they get your ip address, do they call the police? what if you're behind a vpn?

75b434 No.651

>>650

You'll want to be behind 7 proxies, at least.

476b4f No.674

>>650
It's illegal, but … generally nobody would bother.

IP is wiped if you reboot, which includes disconnecting the cam. So, let's say you're being a cunt over the mic. They pull the cord. IP gone.

It might still be on their router or the like though. But few people using these have tech knowledge.

A VPN is advised, but many people do this without one and never get in trouble.

Please provide exact sources for the claim that this activity is legal. If you're using defaults, you aren't committing a crime. Bruting or exploiting could be prosecuted, otherwise, provide source.

You just contradicted yourself…

Isn't bruteforcing just trying possible passwords, including the default password.

So if bruteforcing is illegal then so is trying the default password.

They could probably get you on something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_trespass

For a start at least then if you view the camera feed then they've got you on voyeurism charges http://definitions.uslegal.com/v/voyeurism/

If you start play sounds to scare them then you've got http://definitions.uslegal.com/h/harassment/ or something similar.

You're a fucking idiot if you think this is legal.

There sure as hell are laws that they can use to prosecute people with and what I've listed is just a start.

I've been using shodan's netwave search to get foscam type IP cameras, but I see some of you guys posting pics/webms of cameras that have the timestamp at the bottom. What cameras are these, and is there a tutorial on how to get these ones?

Thanks in advance.

I rarely use VPNs and I've been doing this for over 5 years.

During that time I've upset and pissed off a lot of fucking people, and so far nothing. Maybe I should take more care, but like has been said, as soon as action is taken, they basically wipe your IP from the camera. People who are stupid enough to buy something like these insecure cams for security, are usually too stupid to have technical know-how on what to do about it anyway.

So Netwatch, you never use a VPN on your streams?

Aren't you afraid someone will catch an IP of one of your cams, go to it, check logs and reveal your IP? (I've streamed cam adventures before and this was a big worry)

Also, what's your setup for streaming audio to the cams while also streaming to the feed?

2b4dcc No.814

is there an alternative to shodan.io ?

sometimes there are no new results - sometimes for more than 10 days (i am a free user).

last update for the search term "netwave" is 3 days old.

i use the "Advanced IP Scanner" which is ok, because it shows if the IP is connected to a printer or webcam, but the scanning is a pain in the ass.

You probably want to familiarize yourself with using ssh to access a remote Linux server. From the command line you just use curl to grab kcore files (or a handy dandy shell script).
