ITT; fuck shodan/random hits, let's ipcam someone we actually want to

ok guys, I've been here on this board since it was created, this community has grown a bit and we're going well with this but I think we might go to next level shit

I'm tired of randomly hitting webcams from shodan (even though I can filter by country/city) and I wonder if there's a way to be objective here like getting to watch someone I actually know

this topic is, in the first place, to discuss if it's even possible to do that. if it is, then we'll be discussing methods to getting someone's ip & searching for ipcam in their local network

I ain't got the h4x0r skills, so I'm counting on you guys for that

this would be useful not only to qtgrills but to public places, museums and so on

there's more on this than just TRolLinG_Kek_LoL

i was actually thinking about this yesterday. i was eating in a local restaurant and noticed a d-link cam in the corner. first thought was "i wonder if i could use that to check the wait time without bothering to call"

the best idea i have is joining a wireless network that's open, has a guest option or that you know the password to. from there you could just check your public IP and run a scan on the usual ports to see if the cam responds.

not sure of other ways to get a public IP for later access. i suppose you could try something when joined to the network, like scanning a typical range like 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255 to see what responds. but i don't think this is possible unless you're on the network and, at that point, just grab the public ip as noted above.

networkfags, get in here!

oh, and obviously you could try to crack the wifi password depending on the type of security being used. not something i have experience with but my understanding is that wep is pretty weak.

I'll just leave this here xD

I was wondering what the common ports are that IP cams use. Like if u have access to multiple WiFi connections and you know there is IP cams near by some one should make like a script that checks all popular ipcam ports.

With very few exceptions:

80
8080
8090

…then sequential from there like 8081, 8082, etc.

For foscam firmware anyway.

So, if I know the person and got the network password and got access to the public IP, what's the procedure after that?

Should I just follow the same steps with an IP from Shodan but instead using the IP I just got?

I'm very new to this board so I don't know if I am doing some kind of crime in here by asking such a basic question.

how does it work if you wanted to attach a RAT to a friend.

also how to crypt something like a boss?

I nabbed my friend's ip as a test to see if it worked and the i.p. comes out wrong says he's in Kansas then asked him his ip said he was in cali, but I know he's in new mexico.

Yes, if you know their public IP you'd just do the regular proc/kcore process. You'll have to try a few ports, 80, 81, 8080 and 8090, to see which one the cam responds on.

There are plenty of RATs out there but your means of getting it installed are up to you. I've thought about bringing RATing into this board… maybe you'll be the first poster!

I feel like I could just come in here and start answering questions.

I suppose I have some h4k5 skills. Actually, it'd be pretty interesting to see if I could breach any of these environments.

I'd want to do it for something I actually cared about though. Some cute girl you know maybe?

If their computer is behind a newish router it probably won't be vulnerable.
If its behind a shit router or directly connect to the internet - its worth a shot.

In this scenario, I'd just try to break into their computer and access their webcam.
BUT

To do that, I'd need a RAT as another anon mentioned. A good one. Those cost money- typically, unless you all of know any for free that aren't shit. Or just any other software that when installed on the other computer can discretely give me webcam access (and disable that webcam light please)

There are tons of patched ip cams that we can get the ip to. Maybe getting the router and grabbing cam credentials is easier than the RAT approach. Plus, ip cams are likely more fruitful than web cams.

Please, continue.
