On Wednesday morning in the Hama Governorate’s southern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – renewed their Orontes River offensive by striking the Islamist rebel defenses at the imperative villages of Al-Zarrah and Harbinfseh near the Homs Governorate’s northern border.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade and their allies began the day by seizing the northern neighborhoods of Harbinfseh after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham (largest Islamist/rebel group), and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

Following their advance at Harbinfseh, the Syrian Armed Forces finally broke into the village of Al-Zarrah at the northern bank of the Orontes River; this assault resulted in the death of several enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra, the Free Syrian Army, and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham before nightfall on Wednesday.

According to a military source inside the city of Hama, the Syrian Armed Forces have seized the southern entrance of Al-Zarrah and they are currently pushing north in order to capture the remaining neighborhoods inside the village.

Currently, both of the aforementioned villages are contested; however, they are both likely to be captured by the Syrian Armed Forces in teh coming days, as the Islamist rebels struggle to maintain their ground near the Homs border.

>The organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant «the Islamic State», said: in the Qur'an, God does not command us to fight Israel or the Jews, but to fight the apostates and hypocrites.

>«the Islamic State» said, in tweets on a website used to disseminate data and information «Twitter», according to «CNN»: «I ask the Saudi people who defend the evil ones (tyranic ones/al-tawagit), does your country kill apostates (Liberals - Atheists)? The apostles and honourable companions ordered us to kill the apostate.»

>On the question as to why the organization does not fight Israel, and rather, the people of Iraq and Syria, the Islamic State said in a separate tweet: « the greatest answer is in the Koran, when God speaks of the near enemy, in most of the verses of the Quran, they are hypocrites, because they are more dangerous than the original unbelievers themselves. The answer is in when Abu Bakr went to fight the apostates in order to open up Jerusalem, which was only opened after the reign of Omar bin Khattab ».

>The organisation continued: « The answer is when Saladin and Nur ad-Din Zangi battled the Shiites in Egypt and the Levant before they took Jerusalem, they fought more than fifty battles before Saldin took up Jerusalem, when Saladin was asked: why are you fighting the Shiites, the defector Ubaydi (Fatimid) state in Egypt, and leaving the Roman Crusaders to occupy Jerusalem? He replied: Do not fight the Crusaders and the Shiites with the back exposed ».

>« the Islamic State » said: « Jerusalem will not be liberated until we get rid of these idols such as the petrolium barons, the Nahyan, and all the other families of pawns who have controlled the fate of the Muslim world since colonialism ».

It is not the time.

Turkey has started to remove mines planted by ISIS along a strip of territory near a Syrian border town, only a day after an Ankara-backed rebel group declared the area a “military zone” and advised civilians to leave.

A mine sweeper arrived Tuesday morning in Gaziantep province’s Karkamis district in southern Turkey to remove the landmines planted by ISIS along the Syrian-Turkish border near Jarabulus, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu News Agency reported.

A source told the agency that Turkish forces have taken “wide-ranging security measures in the area to respond to any potential attack.”

Ambulances and medical crews were also dispatched to the border area in the event of any injuries that might occur during the de-mining process.

ISIS fighters based in Jarabulus had reportedly bolstered defensive measures following reports that Turkey was moving toward establishing a “safe zone” stretching from the border town to Aazaz, a region controlled by the jihadist group.

Activist Shazza Khalil, who lives in ISIS held territory, told Al-Souria Net on July 16 that the group has dug tunnels around Jarablus along the Turkish border and inside the town.

ISIS members also laid mines all along the border, causing the death of many civilians who tried to cross over in to Turkish held territory illegally, Kahlil added.

Ankara has repeatedly reiterated its desire to establish some-form of ISIS-free border zone in northern Aleppo, with Turkey’s Yeni Safak newspaper reporting on January 11 that rebel groups were working to achieve the goal.

The daily—which is close to the country's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP)—quoted a rebel commander as saying the opposition groups intend to secure Ankara's desired safe-zone stretching from Aazaz to Jarabulus, which would prevent the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) from further expanding along the Turkish border.

The first batch of Russian Marines have arrived to the Kuweires Military Airport as part of an advisory unit that is meant to overlook the Syrian Arab Army’s military operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside.

According to a field source with the Tiger Forces in the Al-Bab Plateau, a little less than 50 Russian Marines were deployed to the Kuweires Military Airport on Thursday morning after a short stint in the Latakia Governorate that included trying and advising the new recruits from the National Defense Forces (NDF).

Russian Air Force pounds the rebels main supply route in west Aleppo

Over the last 48 hours, the main highway leading to the Bab Al-Hawa border-crossing into the Turkish city of Reyhanli (Hatay Province of western Turkey) has been closed off as a result of the Russian Air Force’s strategic bombing campaign in the Aleppo Governorate’s western countryside.

The Russian airstrikes have been concentrated on the Reyhanli-Aleppo Highway, which is the primary supply route for the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham (largest Islamist group), Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) to western and southern Aleppo.

Friday morning, the Russian Air Force struck an Islamist rebel convoy on the way to southwestern Aleppo in order to reinforce their fighters combating the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division, Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary) near the M-5 Highway (Aleppo-Damascus Highway).

As a result of these targeted airstrikes by the Russian Air Force, the Islamist rebels have been unable to resupply their combatants near the Idlib-Aleppo border.

If the Islamist rebels are unable to utilize this highway, they will ultimately be without a primary supply to combat the Syrian Government forces in southwest Aleppo.

The Syrian Armed Forces have yet to begin phase 3 of the southern Aleppo offensive; however, with these airstrikes obstructing the rebel supply route, this assault could begin in the coming days.

Moments ago in the northern Aleppo countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 154th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – in close coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), and several Iraqi paramilitary units – imposed full control over two hilltops located along the road from Al-Zahra’a to the nearby village of Tannourah. According to several battlefield correspondents in northern Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies captured Duhrat Al-Qur’ah and Duhrat Al-Qundilah after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nourideen Al-Zinki, Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen. With the capture of the aforementioned hills in northern Aleppo this morning, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies are attempting to build a buffer-zone around the strategic towns of Al-Zahra’a and Nubl.

y pushing south towards Tannourah and its nearby quarries, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies will have effectively flanked the Islamist rebels at the village of Bayyanoun, leaving them with only route to retreat. Despite the announcement of a ceasefire, the battle for Aleppo will likely continue because of the large presence of Islamist rebel fighters from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, who refuse to negotiate a cessation of hostilities with the Syrian government.

ISIS offensive in west Palmyra stalls: Syrian Army reenters Al-Bayarat and Al-Dawa

Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – were able to repel the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) attack on the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields, forcing them to withdraw towards the small village of Al-Bayarat in Palmyra’s (Tadmur) western countryside.

As a result of the ISIS withdrawal, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade and their allies reentered the village of Al-Bayarat, attacking the terrorist group’s frontline defenses at the northern flank.

addition to reentering Al-Bayarat, the Syrian Arab Army also reentered the village of Al-Dawa in Palmyra’s western countryside after a brief hiatus due to the large-scale ISIS offensive in western Palmyra.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces and ISIS are deadlocked in a tug-of-war battle for control of the desert villages around Palmyra – the Syrian Arab Army is still 2 km outside of the ancient city, but they have made no serious attempt to advance past Ancient Quarries.

Syrian Army encircles Qaryatyan while #Palmyra front reaches stalemate https://t.co/zRQYNJQhBy #Homs

For months, ISIS militants and soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army have clashed on the western outskirts of Tadmur (Palmyra); currently, the frontline seems to have reached a relatively static stalemate at the villages of Al-Bayarat and Al-Dawa, located less than 10 kilometers from the ancient city of Palmyra.

However, government troops have broken the siege of Sadad and recaptured the town of Mahin while pushing towards the ISIS stronghold of Qaryayan. For the moment, the Syrian Arab Army has cut off ISIS supply routes at Qaryatyan from the northern, western and eastern entrances whilst also capturing several hills surrounding the town. Nevertheless, some minor dirt roads at its eastern district still connect Qaryatyan with Islamic State mainland.

Strategically, the Syrian Arab Army must widen the dangerously narrow strip of land which it controls along M3-highway (Homs-Palmyra road) as to deter ISIS militants from launching a surprise offensive on Tiyas Airbase. Furthermore, if government troops were to capture Qaryatyan it will enable a major push into the oil-rich eastern deserts of Syria.

Home Syria Syria Syrian Army regains initiative in southwest Palmyra By Leith Fadel - 12/02/2016 2705 0 On Thursday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) – launched a counter-assault against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the Palmyra (Tadmur) countryside, targeting the aforementioned terrorist group’s supply channels and the southwestern hills bordering this ancient desert city. The Syrian Armed Forces began their assault by targeting ISIS’ defensive positions at Al-Dawa; this attack proved successful as they were able to reenter this village after a two week hiatus. Meanwhile, southeast of Al-Dawa village, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade and their allies pushed past ISIS’ front-line defenses at Tal Al-Sahliyah, resulting in their imperative advance towards Palmyra’s Old City District.

In addition to the aforementioned gains, the Syrian Armed Forces (specifically Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra) pushed back the ISIS terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Jabal Al-Sha’ar’s (Poet Mountains) southern perimeter, killing a dozen enemy combatants in the process. While this is unlikely a major push to enter Palmyra, the Syrian Armed Forces are attempting to cement their positions around the city in order to surround the ISIS terrorists. The ancient city of Palmyra was captured by ISIS during their May offensive in east Homs.

Syrian Army makes huge strides in northern Latakia after failed rebel offensive

The Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) launched two different counter-offensives this week in order to recapture the territory they conceded to the Syrian Armed Forces over the weekend; however, not only were these counter-offensives repelled, but the pro-government forces seized even more territory from the Turkish-backed Islamist.

Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – imposed full control over 7 villages in Jabal Al-Turkmen (Turkmen Mountains) after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army.

ccording to the battlefield correspondent Eyad Al-Hussein, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies seized Khan Al-Jouz, Baghtos, Ras Al-Ghazal, Katf Kamoa, Khanda Morek, Ghanaymiyah, and ‘Ara; this successful campaign marks the largest advance by the Syrian Armed Forces since the inception of the northern Latakia offensive.

The Syrian Armed Forces have now turned their attention to the strategic villages of Al-Rabi’yah, Kabani, and Kinsibba – these are all considered rebel strongholds near the Turkish border-crossing with the Latakia Governorate.

Syrian Army recaptures several sites in Deir Ezzor https://t.co/vnRBlhshpm #DeirEzzor #ISIS #Syria

The Syrian Arab Army is on the move in Deir Ezzor’s northwestern countryside today, recapturing several sites that were under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) since Sunday.

Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard – in close coordination with the 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division, the National Defense Forces (NDF), and the Shaytat Tribesmen – imposed full control over the Saiqa Camp and the strategic hilltop of Tal Kroum after a violent battle with the ISIS terrorists.

. According to a military source in Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade is now targeting the Ayyash weapons depot that was captured by ISIS on Sunday; if they are able to recapture this site, along with Jabal Thurdeh, they will have effectively reversed all of the terrorist group’s gains.

Preliminary reports from Deir Ezzor indicate that the Syrian Armed Forces have recaptured the Ayyash weapons depot; however, there has been no official confirmation or footage from the Syrian Arab Army.

In addition to their success at these aforementioned sites, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Brigade also repelled ISIS’ large-scale assault on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport this morning, killing over 30 enemy combatants in the process of clearing the area.

Complete battle update of Deir Ezzor: Day 5

Day 5 of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) offensive inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate was by far one of the bloodiest days this week, as the aforementioned terrorist group sacrificed several fighters to make small advances near the provincial capital and its military airport.

ISIS began the day by launching a massive assault on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport and the village of Jafra, striking the Syrian Arab Army’s eastern flank at both sites.

However, the ISIS terrorists were unable to make any progress at this front; instead, they lost over 20 combatants during the failed infiltration attempt at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

Following their failed assault on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport, ISIS renewed their assault on the 137th Artillery Brigade’s headquarters; however, they were quickly repelled by the Syrian Arab Army soldiers entrenched inside of this base.I

The Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division responded with their own counter-attack near the strategic hilltop of Tal Kroum, capturing this site after a short battle with the ISIS terrorists.

Not long after capturing Tal Kroum, the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Brigade – backed by the 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard – made several advances inside of the Al-Baghayliyah District, pushing as far north as the Saiqa Camp.

Unfortunately, the advance was cut short due to the ISIS counter-assault coming from the north; if the Syrian Armed Forces did not withdraw back to the southern sector of the Al-Baghayliyah District, the terrorist group could have cutoff the advancing soldiers from their necessary supply line.

As a result of this withdraw by the Syrian Armed Forces, ISIS took the opportunity to seize the entire area surrounding the Radio Broadcast Tower and even pushed as far west as the Al-Furat Hotel, which is located near Deir Ezzor City’s western entrance.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) was busy on Thursday, launching several attacks that targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s defensive positions at the military airport and Jabal Thardeh inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate. ISIS was repelled by the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport during the afternoon hours on Thursday; this forced the terrorist group to shift their attention to Jabal Thardeh in the province’s western countryside near the Damascus-Baghdad International Highway. Undeterred by their first failed assault on Jabal Thardeh, ISIS launched their second wave of their attack in the late afternoon hours on Thursday, resulting in a intense series of firefights near the strategic hilltop of Tal Kroum and the 137th Brigade’s headquarters.

Unable to bypass the Syrian Arab Army’s stiff defenses near Tal Kroum, ISIS was forced to retreat once again after sustaining 22 casualties at the western perimeter of Jabal Thardeh. According to a military source at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport, ISIS frantically retreated after Russian fighter jets began to bombard their reinforcement convoys that were attempting to back up their comrades battling the government forces. All-in-all, the ISIS offensive in the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Thursday ended in disaster, as an estimated 50+ terrorists were killed during their battles with the government forces.
