Islamists go to war with each other in the east Qalamoun
On Friday morning in the Qalamoun Mountains of rural Damascus, the Islamist rebels from Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) launched a preemptive assault on their former allies from Jaysh Al-Tahrir (Army of Liberation) inside the town of Al-Dumayr.
According to several field reports from the rebel social media activists, the former allies went to war against one another after a number of unsettled disputes intensified the friction between Jaysh Al-Islam and Jaysh Al-Tahrir in Al-Dumayr this week.
Pictures from the Al-Dumayr front displayed the sheer brutality of this battle, as mutilated corpses could be seen all over this town in the eastern slopes of the Qalamoun Mountains.
make matters worse for the Islamist rebels, they are currently fighting one another while the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) expand their military operations from the rural city of Qarah to the southeastern countryside of the Homs Governorate; specifically, the predominately Syriac Orthodox city of Sadad.
Luckily, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) are present to forestall the advance by the ISIS terrorists into the southeastern country of the Homs Governorate.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Islamist rebels have completely disregarded ISIS’ presence in the Qalamoun Mountains; in fact, they have participated on the same side during the battle of Al-Zabadani (Western Mountains) and the 2nd battle of the Qalamoun.
