The Sanhedrin didn't like the idea of a "jew king", it posed a threat to their power in Israel.

Much like how any other political issue was resolved back than, they've decided to kill their problem.

Not remotely any proof there was such a person. New Testament was written much later. The "gospels" were written by 2 people with the 2nd copying the first, and the stories disagree on what should've been easy facts. No one else but those pushing the religion years after the supposed events recorded anything about him. Josephus didn't mention him in his primary work on the region and only passingly referred to the Ebonites religious figure in his lesser writing once. The few other reference in said lesser writing were proven fakes inserted by the monks that made the copies yet lacked the linguistic and historical knowledge to fake it well.

Just because they didn't believe Jesus was messiah doesn't mean they didn't want a messiah.

Not "Yeshua", but "Yesh'u", it's abbreviation of the expression "let his name be forgotten", and it existed since the time of the first zugot (the first religious authorities that worked on religious law, their era is estimated ~200 BC - ~20 AD) and most probably had/has no connotation to Jesus, as, if He really had existed, had no vast influence on the Jews of these times (even Joseph did not write about Him, while he wrote many passages centered around John the Baptist). Also the second possibility is that He actually had influence, but it led many Jews astray from the proper Judaism, so sages treated Him as a heresiarch and agreed to not write about Him at all
