>>840by letting people openly spout their anti-Semitic hate speech and vitriol on a jewish board, you're not encouraging free speech like the assholes on /pol/ want you to believe, you're encouraging anti-Semitism. /Pol/ wants you to believe that hate speech is equivalent to an open discussion. /Pol/ wants you to believe that anyone can hold their hateful opinion with no consequences and that they are entitled to hate and entitled It does not recognize that having a profound hate and prejudice is not constructive to anything or any type of discussion and that you are not entitled to spew hate on the internet. it derails the thread and gradually brainwashes those who read it. /Pol/ is just a board to make it seem normal to hold these horribly racist and anti-Semitic views. You do have to shut it down. It's a problem that needs to stop.
People are influenced by comments they read on the internet whether or not they believe it. If you keep seeing anti-Semitic viewpoints plastered over and over again on the internet (specifically this site), people are going to think that those views are normal and acceptable and not in any way perverted or extreme.
As board owner, you can determine the culture for your board through the general posts
Now I know you're interested in "protecting free speech and discussion," but let's get real here. Your flag says you're from Israel, so I'm assuming you really live in Israel and aren't just using an Israeli proxy server. Surely you couldn't forget who the Nazis were and what they did. You know who the Nazis were. You know what they did. You know that they have a poisonous ideology spread by Adolph Hitler that eventually led to the systematic murder of over 6 million jews across Europe. Never forget that. Now with that being said, why on earth would you let someone who subscribes and to this ideology, that jews to be persecuted and eliminated, on a Jewish /Israel/ board?
Here's how you need to approach board moderation; take it from me, I'm a board owner myself. You don't need to approach it from the legalistic perspective of "if it's against the rules it's deleted; if it's not it stays" like Moot did. That's the 4chan way of doing things. Keep in mind that just because you make the rules doesn't mean you have to act autistic about it. You should approach each post from a perspective of "Does this help the conversation on the board?" or "does this help the board itself?" If not, then delete it. If too many people have posted to the thread and you don't want to tick them off by deleting it, sage it. If it's really bad, impose a ban. For example, if someone says "lel jewish kike goy we shuld kill all tha jews free Palestine," maybe that guy deserves to be banned for a little bit. Posting the protocols of the elders of zion isn't going to help this board. If someone actively claims they subscribe to the ideology that systematically took the lives of 6 million Jews and spreads that poisonous ideology on a Jewish board, maybe they should get banned for a bit longer. Last one was my opinion.
Bottom line, do what you can to stop anti-Semitism today. Giving them one less platform on the internet for their bullshit is a start.
