After all in japan are a girls friends the key to love. (they tell you that she likes you) They tell her even what to do/say.

So I think there's a connection.

I've never used Line though, I've heard that behaviour which they don't respond to messages of their friends even though they already viewed is called 既読スルー(Kidoku Suru, KS for short) among Japanese Line users, especially teenagers.
I'm not sure if it's normal and what she thinks, but it seems to be common as far as I can find out on the Internet.
