Lizard Squad(金を払えば、DDoS攻撃を提供するサービス)によるDDoS攻撃で8chanの鯖が落ちて2chもその影響を受けたんだと思う。
けど誰がLizard Squadに依頼して攻撃を仕掛けたのか未だ分かってない。
it's said that the DDoS attack which got launched by Lizard Squad caused 8chan to be down and 2ch got affected as well as 8chan,
but yet it has not become clear who asked them to do the DDoS towards the network of 8chan and 2ch.

If japanese anons don't like our 2ch partnership, they can set up their own site using 8chan software, it's free. They filter your posts, mods have complete control of what gets posted, which posts other users can view. They have something called shadow ban, when everything you post become invisible to others. Only way you can even notice you got shadow banned is if nobody replies to you. It maked it very easy for mods to filter discussion to their liking, which is what happened. There was one mod who went rogue and leaked reddit mod logs recently that show how bad it has become.

that's just servers. Jim's not an administrator of 8ch nor does he have any power over it. HW said that is case there is any danger to hosting he'll pay for it and anons here will gladly cover the costs directly, as we did before 2ch partnership.
But more that that, 8ch is an open source platform, anybody can use use 8ch software freely and set up their own chan. 2channers can do that and create their own site with people they trust rather than migrate around from people they dislike.
