So what do guys think about manga scanlators?

 No.92

If you like it you'll buy it or merchandise aftwards anyway. People who want to get rid of scanlators, are just supporting the paperjew

Japanese dislike them.
I probably wouldn't have ~500 volumes of manga if it weren't for scanlations.
Definitely wouldn't if I had not seen anime online.

That said, I watch fansubs as a crutch, but with manga there's no need to keep up with the programme so it's simple enough to reread the passage or check a dictionary. So I find it fine to read manga in Japanese and don't have any use for scanlations. I guess they're nice for anyone who can't read Japanese at all, but I don't really see the appeal of anime/manga except as a means to keep my listening/reading skills sharp without being serious study.
