In your opinion, how would lojban fare as an international secondary language? As someone who's learning it, I'm rather curious.
No.110
The problem is that English is already a well-established language that is used literally everywhere in all fields as a universal Lingua Franca. No matter what you do to promote Lojban, people seeking to maximise potential communication will know that most people speak or know a substantial amount of English, and would therefore choose that over Lojban. This is an evil spiral that will always be true as long as present world order is maintained. What we have to do, however, is wait till English becomes, not the most spoken secondary language, but the most spoken primary language. This is already happening in a lot of heavily modernised/urbanised countries that have not traditionally been a part of the anglosphere. Once English reaches this status, it will start to make sense to look for a more optimal replacement. And that's where Lojban comes into the picture. I can't think of a language that's, despite clear faults, is more logical and optimised for verbal information exchangement. The good part about this scenario, is that we will have lots and lots of time to fix these flaws, and by the time it will become realistic to let Lojban replace English in aforementioned fashion, it should be the most optimised language imaginable. Given enough time, every finite process will eventually finish.

It will always be a hobbyist language. If you think otherwise you are totally delusional, 100%.

I don't see why Lojban shouldn't do that much, or at least gain a lot more ground in the 'hacker/geek' types of communities
