This is the complete package. Manga, movie, vidya, soundtrack, animu… Granted it's mostly the same story recycled over and over, but I can't seem to get enough. There's ghosts, murder, piss, lolis… Ghosts that murder pissing lolis.
I guess what I'm saying is that it hits all the notes of a good guilty pleasure b-horror while still managing a sense of dread and tension. I think it breaks the monotony of generic waifushit by mercilessly slaughtering them, don't you agree?

Mahou Shoujou of the End - Another chanceless scenario. Lulz to be had

Terra Formars - Love the JOHJ. Cool future scenario, name is just a butchered "Terraformers."
Zekkyou Gakkyou - Bunch of short stories. If you're scared of these, you're probably in diapers.
Tokyo Ghoul - I shouldn't even have to name some of these
Zetman - Monsters and JUSTICE
Aku No Hana - Revolves around "Fleur du Mal" aka "Flowers of Evil" by a philosopher which states we all have evil within. Follows a boy.
Doubt - Mystery, murder, rabbits.
Franken Fran - It's more SoL of a psychopath who's a master surgeon. Still horror.
Freesia - Man goes cuckoo? Placed in a future where "retaliatory killings" are legal.
Fuan no Tane (+) - Only series that could have topped Ito in pure psychological horror. 2-10 page short stories placed in real life scenarios.
Gantz - If you're into shitty endings, I guess.
Hellsing - Action. You've heard of it.
Ibitsu - Neechan gone wrong.
Ichi the Killer - Flexible retard is killing people by kicking them in half while crying and ejaculating. 11/10
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro - "It's Sherlock Holmes for sadists." - anon
Lying Mii-kun and Broken Maa-chan - Hard to describe without ruining anything. Shamlyanalan approved.
Other "Horror" manga - These are ones that have tags that say "Horror", but it's iffy.
Abnormal Kei-Joshi - There's killings in it
Akame Ga Kiru - Akama ga EDGE.
Another - I still can't finish it. Lots of mixed reviews.
Claymore - You've heard of it (I hope.)
Murcielago - Good anyway. Nice edgy lesbian MC.
Nickelodeon - Some stories, I guess. Good anyway. Glorious Dowman
Oukoku Game - game = Gaimu, might need to be moved to the top. Too soon to tell if it's soft or hard horror. Not a video game, real life scenario.
Sankarea - Kid figures out how to make zombies. Makes
Shingeki no Kyojin - Attack on Grammar.
Voynich Hotel - Glorious Dowman.
Anorexia: Shikabane Hanako Kyoshokushou - Short read. Dey eat people. Can't remember if that's a spoiler or not, been a while.
Only horror Manhwa I can think of is American Ghost Jack.

The only downside for me is that I've already thoroughly read EVERY single comic ever written by Junji Ito and I'd like recommendations for new stuff.

Why aren't there more horror anime? Also, Another's last two episodes ruined it.
Since we already have a rec thread, let's talk about the bad pieces of j-horror you've watched/read/played and the various things they did wrong.
I think the worst j-horror film I've watched was "Grotesque" (2009), which is about a guy kidnapping a couple on their first date and torturing them for seventy minutes. The torture scenes were dull, there's no real story and the characterisation attempt on the torturer was pitiful (his reason for being nuts was just stupid as hell).
I know torture flicks aren't exactly intellectual works, but I didn't know it was possible to make torturing a couple boring. No tension, no reason to care and none of those "ouch, that had to hurt" moments really.
It looked okay even if it was filmed pretty much entirely in a basement.
I only watched it because it got banned in the UK for a variety of reasons (most of it comes from the lack of justifiable context on what's happening), but really it was just crap.
