Hamon > Ripple

>>275eh. i'm fine with just the bubbles and clackers. everyone and their mother having a stand was fine when it was just because you just never knew who could be one of dio's, but past a chapter of that, just damn. araki did right not wearing out hamon's welcome.

>>436Yeah, jojo would be better without those special snowflakes. Araki should have given them all the same power, and made it more normal, for normal people like myself! What was he on acid or something? wtf japan lol

>>268Stands > Ripple, but I wish that Ripple was still a thing in newer parts. And if Araki really wanted to drop Ripple entriely (not sure why though) he could at least explain that Stands are like a different form of Ripple or something. I wish we had both though. Stands using Ripple would be fucking radical.
No.521
While I do get that Stands allow for more variety I do wish more was done with Hamon. Atleast have Joseph incorporate it more into his fighting style in Part 3 rather than just drop it randomly.
No.593
I love the stands, sure. But Hamon was a fantastic fictional martial art, right up there with Fist of the North Star.
And really, people use the excuse that "Ripple was only useful against vampires, and therefore becomes useless after part 2", but I disagree. We saw interesting skirmishes between Cesar and Joseph in part 2 using Hamon.
My complaint is less "Hamon is more interesting than stands", but more "I wish there was a smoother relation between the two, and more use of Hamon following 2".

i personally hated Ripple in part 2. It just seemed to come out of nowhere in the plot, and for something as simple as "just breath in some sort of way", the heroes seemed to be able to do fucking everything with it, shit was just ridiculously all purpose and rushed into the story.
One of the reasons part 2 is my second favorite part is because it somewhat fixed Ripple for me, characters were using it more to infuse ceartain object with energy and more or less in a "conducting electricity" sense. But in part 1 it just seemed like "now we stretch!" "now we shoot energy through walls!" "now it slow body movemt" "hey look at these flowers" "i'm mind controlling your snakes/zombies bro"
I do think the sudden droo was too sudden and Oldseoh should have used it more, but yeah, better to give everyone unique abilities like devil fruits than just keep adding what "power of breathing and somehow being powered by the sun" can do.

If I could change Jojo:
>Joseph keeps the ripple in part 3
>Some evil ripple group that splintered off would join Dio, so you would have ripple vs. stand fights or even old Joseph ripple vs. other evil ripple users
>A Zeppeli ripple user joins part 5 group
Caesar proved you could have unique ripples with his bubble shit so it wouldn't get too boring. It could have worked.
No.675
I really like the ripple, but I feel its use in part 2 was the best it could be before Araki made it lame and stale. As a power, it's really well thought out.

>>Joseph keeps the ripple in part 3
I think it's fair that he stops using it as he gets older and it gets replaced by stands but he could still use it a little in SC.

yea i'm pretty sure d'arby wouldnt have noticed all that yellow lightning energy shit hammon produces

I'm pretty sure Joseph could have figured something out if he remembered he had it.

He used Hamon in Part 3 against the Empress. His hamon only worked in close ranges aside from his Crackers which he didn't have. His only use for Hamon would be to pull them in with HP and use it, which wasn't used effectively.
