I believe in Jorge, the answer is that Dio clung onto it and he and Erina had this fight in the water where Dio held Lisa Lisa hostage and Erina helped him in to save the baby.

I always thought that there were two coffins, Dio's Coffin, and Wang Chun or whatever his name was' coffin. Erina hides in Wang's coffin and Dio and Jonathan's body are in DIO's coffin.
