Agreed, which definitively marks its departure from vaporwave. There's no retrofuturism, irony, or degradation of consumerism.
His musical structure also differs significantly. Instrumentally it's repetitive, violent and crude. Vaporwave is characteristically spacey, meandering and subject to far less internal structural expectations. They both recontextualize cultural artifacts, but that's about it.
