Let's have a fun music thread /jp/
Ive been listening to animal collectives 9:30 and would recommend it to any 23 something on a lot of drugs. really tailor made to seem as if its bgm to your life story. I cant really put it into words but the performance really really shows the bands mastery over the listeners emotions, as well as their control over them. Its amazing really, and i think this album kinda hits home on this ability. I was writing this while listening to moonjack and could feel my writing being influenced by it, though of course while on drugs its to be expected but shit, great album
No.21159
but yeah, its strangely easy to get caught up in this feeling they create in their music, and as the performance goes on, this fact is made apprent.
It's something you have to listen to, rather than have explained to you, so again, Id recommend it

Or for instance, through the course of a single song, I found myself chugging a engery drink on my desk to the tune of New Town Burnout, to feeling how pointless writing about such a thing is. All to this bgm which seemed to perfectly match every lay life bullshit

To the guy who posted metal, try listening to something more upbeat. Drugs aren't necessary to enjoy music, but listening to music designed to get you down will do exactly that, get you down.
I can only speak for myself in this, but I've noticed that as I've grown older, I've noticed I've ignored a large part of what it takes to be happy; how I feel. I know that it's something that's shyed away from in favor of logic, something which I consider to be the fairly solid foundation from which to build yourself upon. Logic is all well and good, make no mistake upon that, but just try and keep in mind that over thinking things leads to nothing but anxiety, and worse a tendency to wrap yourself up in that never ending loop of worry, fear, and negativity of the reality of your own individual situation.
Don't kill your emotions to the point of where you have nothing left but the harsh reality of depression and all the shitty feelings that come with it. Start at your own pace to find the path to make yourself happy, something no one but yourself can find, despite what shrinks may tell you or prescribe to you. Shits tough, and even harder depending on how deep a hole you've dug yourself, but just the act of trying to dig yourself out of whatever hole your in, regardless of how deep, and seeing the shit about yourself and situation gradually become better helps.
Find a place to start moving. Shit's not easy and work sucks, be it actual work or just learning that thing you keep blowing off. Shit sucks, and I'm only just starting on digging myself out of this hole that I would like to think has been made for me as result of a past failures, traumas, etc. I would like to think that, but at the end of the day, the place I am in after all these past events are long and over with, both physically and mentally, are a result of myself and my inability to let go of them.
Time is running out regardless of how old you are, and as I'm sure sure of you here have experienced, you begin to realize time is going faster and faster to the point of where days become weeks, months become years, and years become realizations that there are huge empty spaces in your life of which you have no recollection.
To put it simply, just keep in mind that living life as if you're dead leads to nothing but standing at the end it all weighed down by nothing but regret. How you feel is something only you can change, and although the solution to feeling alive, or happy even, isn't a simple one for those who are able to see beyond what's in front of them, you've got to start somewhere.

Board is bugging again. I had saw you post this but when I opened the thread it was gone, so I had figured you had deleted it.
>>21196 (You)
Forgot to mention this in the post, but this song is part of the message in the live album I mentioned in the opening post. It seems negative but within the context of the live performance and the story they paint during the live album, the overall meaning comes together. Regardless, it's a good song even by itself.
The last bit of advice I have is again, if you have drugs, do them while listening and really listen to the lyrics and just the music itself and feel it. Drugs help with that and as I mentioned before, the album literally incorporates bits to do them in a way I've never seen before. The phrase "believe in magic" comes up a few times during the album as well, and if you put two hours of your time aside, get high and enjoy yourself of the substance of your choosing (4 tabs of lsd, a lot of grass, and dmt for the big finale for me), I think you'll see why.
Yes one other bit of advice, though more a suggestion, that doesn't pertain to the thread. Watch Aria, read Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō. I've wrote enough, so just give them a try next time you feel like reading manga. Despite their length, you won't regret it.

I wouldn't say death metal "gets me down" but it definitely creates a mental state that allows me to tolerate being in public. If you're white, male, and aren't constantly surrounded by a group of chattering apes you are mentally ill and repulsive. Every second of my existence has had to become a struggle against extroverted culture and the collection of assumptions and stigmas it imposes.

I'm looking for a special kind of music, like this one.
The fact that the artist used everyday common sounds and mixed them into a beautifully arranged song simply fascinates me.
Maybe that's also why I like Otomads so much.
Supposely this kind of music is called "experimental" but every other song I can find with that label is shitty.
Sadly this artist stopped making music a while ago

At the risk of sounding extremely edgy, I've come to the same conclusions as you, fellow Anon, but I can't find a sliver of motivation in myself to change it. I hate the crippling depression, and it's that very depression that keeps me bolted down, unable to change anything, to break from the cycle of sleeping, eating, working, and numbing my mind by doing literally nothing on the internet. I've been telling myself for at least two years to do something, and I tried, I tried many "hobbies", but none I have followed. I'm only 22 but I feel like an 80 year-old man. I want to be happy, to fight depression, but I have no idea how. I have changed for the better in past years, opened up to people, but I still can't break the barrier, even though I've tried for years. I've begun to embrace the ever-present depression.
I'm sorry for such a nonsense post.

The first thing to do should be to start taking extremely cold showers to reduce your body temperature in order to force your blood to actually start circulating and organs to start working. That is assuming you depression is caused by vegetate mode. Usually NEETs in their 20s are depressed because of the vegetate mode, your organism makes you depressed so that you wake up and do things. So you either wake up, that is start taking cold showers, stop masturbating, eat healthy etc. or you meditate to suppress the chemicals your body is releasing to wake you up.

I work a full-time manual labor job, and I live alone. I do plenty of things like shopping, cooking, cleaning, but the depression just comes from all of it being completely pointless. I try to educate myself, I've always wanted to be a programmer, I try over and over again, and never get far, which in turn makes me more depressed. Sometimes I think I'm not as smart as I think I am and the manual labor will be my profession for the rest of my life.
To not derail this thread further, I really love music, many genres of it. Mostly japanese, though. My favorite genres have to be drum'n'bass, hardcore, glitch and whatever else genres with non-standard rhythm and high tempo. When I'm the most depressed I'll listen to drum'n'bass / glitch like goreshit's semantic albums or Venetian Snares which lets me introspect nicely. Other than that, many subgenres of J-core, doujin music, anime OP/ED/OSTs. Rarely classical music, jazz.

True Satanic Black Metal are bands such as Darkthrone, Aryan Satankampf, Graveland, the Gestapo 666, Satanic Warmaster, Beherit and Impaled Nazarene. You can listen to Metallica if you want, but you do not understand anything about the real Hitleric Nazi Black Metal. You are just a poser and you can fuck off the whole scene. Black Metal is real music, not intended for animals like you, but the real Satanic Misanthropists who do not care about people like you dampers.
Black Metal is music for the elite and you do not understand it. None of you understand the real Satanism. You ridiculous little kids. Our worldview is based on Wotanic Hitlerism, on a personal level satanic individualism, collective level Hitleric Fascism. Without an understanding of theoretical occultism, it is useless to dream of understanding the Wotanic worldview. None of you can understand Wotanism, for you are all intellectually earthworms. > If you're white, male, and aren't constantly surrounded by a group of chattering apes you are mentally ill and repulsive.
Says who, and more importantly, who cares? What people think about you makes no difference, despite the many excuses and rationalizations that come to mind saying it does. I had trouble with it for a long time, and it's really just something you get over the more you expose yourself to people, or are forced to.
I know it's common among introvert to claim to not care what people think about them, but often times paranoia and anxiety come together to make not giving a shit much harder. There are people who like to stick their nose in other peoples business, and most will forget about you, or how "weird" you within the hour and go on about their own lives. This applies to both stranger and colleagues.
Either way, your struggles against the extroverted culture which you claim hold you down for various reasons are only as serious as you make them. Getting into that mindset when you're stuck in a void made up of anxiety, people you hate, and the constant feeling of 'not wanting to be here' is hard, there's no doubt about that. Regardless though, the more you expose yourself to people, the more you'll begin to realize that non of it matters.
I hate people just as much as I always have; ive just learned to stop caring so much. Building confidence in yourself and appear help in this as well.
>Pretty much made a necessity by the ubiquitous faceless mass that's constantly trying to reinforce your inferiority. ...every existing person is simultaneously exacting a staggeringly arbitrary form of psychological warfare against you.
They're not, and again, if they are who gives a shit. Seriously man, you gotta realize people do not care about you, or anyone else outside of their immediate circle. Having a high opinion of yourself or confidence is fine; just dontfall into the pattern of believing you are special in the eyes of those whose only knowledge of you stems from their interactions with you on the outside.

Desire to change comes from a lot of different variables. Time, brain chemistry, past experience, etc. all play a factor. There's no easy way to change yourself. To start, you might want to look into supplementation that aids in dopamine production. An example would be L-Tyrosine, or 5-HTP at night. There's a lot that you can take, most of which Ive been taking myself recently and, surprisingly enough, did notice a increase in natural motivation. Drugs, specifically psychedelics, and ketamine/mxe would also be something to look into, but I suppose they arent for everyone.
Regardless, as typical as it sounds, dont give up. Giving up and getting stuck in the negative thought loops that come with it will hurt you more than anything.
>>21273
Eating healthy is the big one. Once I started eating right and taking supplements for essential nutrients my diet lacked, it really was surprising to see just how much of a effect it can have on you both physically and mentally. Not masturbating can help as well, but for me personally I just find it annoying to have to deal with the gradual buildup of libio. Makes my head feel foggy.
>>21274
It is pointless. You're not mistaken in that, however as you know, what gives purpose to life is for you to decide. Having a reason to live and something to look forward to the next day have a pretty big effect on your outlook, as you would expect.
On the programming though, you do know that wrapping your head around a lot of it isnt as easy as people on the internet would lead you to believe right? It's going to take some time to get a handle on it, just because you're not getting far now doesnt mean that after a certain point things will begin to click. Its similar to learning japanese, in that you need a foundation before you can even start on vocabulary. Keep at it and stop doubting yourself so much.

Give Lucky Loctus Vol. 1 & 2 a try if you want something somewhat similar to goreshit, and Gesaffelstein's Conspiracy Pt.1 & 2 if you're wanting something with a bit more substance like Venetain's stuff. Thanks for the encouragement. I think most of my motivation problems come from having a job, since it drains my energy. On weekends I get really hyperactive and do a lot of stuff, but when I get home after work I'm too tired after the actual physical work and interacting with other people. After a day of wageslavery programming seems like an impossible puzzle presented to me in Chinese. After I work enough to meet the criteria I really need to quit my job and apply for NEETbux.

Yeah, when i was working i had trouble seeing much of anything in a positive life since when you're working and out on your own with low income, thats really all you have to think about. Work and your next paycheck, more so when said work leaves you so drained after getting off that all you have the time/will to shit, shower and sleep.
NEETbux are extremely hard to get and depend largely on what state your in. Despite what you may have read on /jp/ through out the years about NEETbux, like that old guide by uncle remus, it is REALLY not a simple process and unless you are at the pants shitting level of autism, your chances are slim. The whole system is basically set against you and even after 10s of hours of prep and research while at my lowest point, I still got denied.
Instead of NEETbux, one thing you might want to check out is community college and getting into CS, since you said you were interested in programming. If you're low income and come from a background reflecting that, it's pretty easy to get most everything paid for through scholarships and grants, and maybe even have enough left over to ease a bit of financial burden.
NEET life is no doubt preferable, but if your faced with the ultimatum of work/school or starve, school is a hell of a lot more preferable than wage slavery. To be honest, I still dont think I could hold a job without getting panic attacks shortly after starting but I havent had that problem with school.

Pretending to be superior in your head over other humans makes you feel better and gives you confidence. It's natural, every human does it in order to feel just a little bit better about themself and their life. You do it too when you look at these people and make such posts, and it's common practice even on imageboards when we tell each other to fuck off.
Humans are destructive egoistical monkeys, but do not forget that despite that humans are also capable of overwhelming kindness and amazing creations.

This song was originally about Noko himself (seen above), not whoever this actress Warner Music paid to make the video more "attractive" to a wider audience. Look at Noko's eyes, look at the way he plays, listen to the music. This feeling the song produces feels fake, and just judging by noko's body language all through, I honestly can't think that he's into this. There's not sense of freedom behind the constraints of the "production" Warner Music is producing. You can hear the music coming through at certain points. like toward the end, but man, I can't help but think Warner is holding the man back musically more than anything.

That being said, it's songs like these that make it apparent that he's still has that spirit inside himself. I'm looking forward to the day the guy's free again.

Yeah, animal collective seems to tailor to those who are so low they need to fry their brain on drugs in order to enjoy what they're listening to.

Denpa is one of those things you find that's so perfect you wonder how it can even exist, and you cross your fingers hoping that it doesn't get destroyed either by people jumping on the bandwagon without really understanding what made it good in the first place, or by the artists letting their ego get the best of them.
Yet somehow denpa seems to remain pure.

ehhhh. I dont know exactly how to describe it but its not really doing it for me. A bit pop-ey and light, I guess? Im not sure, thats probably a bad description. That first one was -kinda- simple, after all.
Have this.

I have a friend who isn't necessarily /jp/ but enjoys animal collective and is straight edge.
I don't honestly think it's a thing that correlates, though.
People abuse drugs because they're either sad or want the experience of trying/doing it generally.
I actually personally enjoy AnCo, but I smoked weed twice when I was 17 so I guess I enjoy degenerate music

Thanks for the share. I really like these.
For the record, they are a bit pop-ey, yeah. It's mainly because this type of music was known as "Turkish Art Music" (direct translation from Turkish), and if I recall correctly, they took inspiration from Western songs back in the day.

Yeah, sounded like it. You sound like you're asking and talking about something you already know about. Are you a turk or a middle easterner to begin with, or something, or just someone who likes that kinda music?

Neither. Have lived in Turkey for six years, though. Turkish history intrigues me, even though most of what remains of it is watered down, overly glorified garbage.
