FFIX was the only one in the PS1 era that I only went through once, I wouldn't mind going through it again some time but I vaguely remember it having bad load times.

How are you enjoying ToS so far? I kind of went backwards starting with Graces f then Xillia then Abyss which I still need to beat and I imported Vesperia but my moon isn't that good.

At first when I started the game it had sort of a childish vibe going for it, but after a while I started to really enjoy it. I also started with Graces f so my initial experience with the series was odd

Yeah I went into Graces expecting just what I got but they did improve a little bit in the future arc. I'm kind of surprised with Abyss, its not amazing but it's better than what I expected.

Thinking of trying Xenoblade.

Yeah, I thought it improved as well after that point. I haven't really gotten into Abyss, and I'm about an hour or two in. I was waiting for Xenoblade to drop in price since I don't plan on emulating it.

Near the end now, but I keep dying to devils on raul hill.

Wild Arms 2 is easily my favorite.

Playing through FF8 now. It was pretty good, but disc 2 has slowed to a crawl. Might start something new to play alongside it. Was going to start DQ8 but it looks like shit on my TV these days, so I'll probably have to download it and emulate it.

Favourite JRPG is Skies of Arcadia and I'm currently playing Golden Sun.

DQ8 doesn't look too bad on an hdtv, FFXII was worse but it looks really nice in HD. It's long though, never finished it but I'm thinking of starting again.

Mother 3 had the biggest impact on me. I'm waiting for the new Pokemon games… the last JRPG I played through was SMT4 when it came out. It was fun.

My copy of Pokemon Y arrived this morning, been playing a little bit and I'm enjoying it, like the others its a bit slow to start off.

I'm currently playing P3FES, I finally got to the 254th floor and levelling a little bit more before trying to kill the Reaper.

How is ToX2 so far? I picked it up but I've only played the first part.

For me it was rather disappointing. I'll list my grievances:
1. The main character is a silent protag, during skits and cutscenes he grunts and gasps like a dope. It's super awkward and doesn't work for a tales game at all. Everybody loves the main character even though he has next to no personality. And he isn't really a stand in for the player either.
2. During the first playthrough you are forced to have this character on your team at all times. You can NOT remove him. You can at least control a different character.
3. There are other numerous situations in which you are forced to use and exact party because story. Normally this occurs only during the early parts of Tales games but this persists even till late game. So even then maining non-MC won't be 100% reliable.
4. MASSIVE amounts of reused assets, maybe like 5 brand new maps.
5. There is a debt mechanic which forces you to stop and grind sidequests for money to pay it off until you are allowed to proceed to the next zone.
6. Some of the new characters feel really forced. Like the new MC and the one little girl, I personally couldn't stand them. A lot of scenes where I was supposed to feel bad for them I was either happy or apathetic.
7. Nova, the debt chick is really fucking annoying and spams me constantly asking me to pay up and stuff.

But FE:A is alright. If you ever played Sacred Stones on GBA or Seisen no Keifuu on the SNES then you'll be familiar with the two main mechanics from them that they mesh into Awakening.

Favourite JRPG would be Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne.

I start a lot of games then just play the one I feel like playing at the given time.
It takes me a shitload of time to actually finish a game like that but at least I don't get bored of it

I am juggling save games in four different Shin Megami Tensei games. Three of them are at least on a second playthrough.

Bravely Default has an insufferable fanbase of nostalgia goggle wearing nutheads but despite my preference for darker fantasy I think the game looks great. The job system looks especially wonderful.

I'd love to get it, but I'm waiting on a NewDS because of how I hear MH4 chugs more on the regular one.

Too many to pick from. Chrono Trigger was the one to get me into JRPGs.

So far it's all right. I'm enjoying the ability to move around - standing in a particular spot was better imo. I'm not using Ashe at all; I know I should, I need a black mage (Fran doubles as one as well, I suppose) but two fighters and a healer is working so far.
