SF5 has pleasantly surprised me. Capcom has pleasantly surprised me. They're making SF:V go back to the series roots and take a lot of cues from SFII:Super Turbo and Alpha 2. Both of my main SF games which I highly enjoy along with making each character as unique as possible. I played a bit of SF5 at my local tourney scene and I really enjoyed it a lot. I enjoy it as much as my main two games. I liked SF IV but it had felt like a sluggier version of SF II:ST with necessary gimmicks.
1-frame links I didn't have any problem with. Ultra combos gave you a free Ultra if you just focus absorbed your opponents attacks. Focus attacks were ok IMO. Though the input leniency should be stricter than SF4.
The fact that they're making DLC characters unlockable in the game as well is really surprising though I'll remain cautious. It seems the damage Inafune did to Capcom has nearly faded away. DMC4:SE also sold very well, so well that it outsold most of their mobile games and Itsuno said that if the game does well then he'll get a team to direct DMC5. They're also announcing a RE2:Remake with the same treatment RE1.
I am also looking forward to Tree of Saviour though the only thing I am cautious about is the casuals in the forums which will end up ruining the game.
