The it'll be the designated w40k thread.

Do you have a single fact to back that up? Most of their weapons look like those homemade weapons, and I'm pretty sure that we humans can't reinforce the barrel of a gun with just pure faith. Not yet, at least.

I think even doorhinges and autoguns have some computers in w40k. Doors are usually electronic, and autoguns use caseless ammo, so they might be using electricity/laser to ignite the powder. In that case a programmable circuit could be useful to control the rate of fire. And our smartphones are already close to fucking magic, so they might as well use a computer with sophisticated sensors to count the bullets fired, the warmth of the barrel, etc, etc.
It may sound a bit too much, but lasguns are already pretty sophisticated by out standards, and it's their equivalent of the AKM. So that computer may have parts of fragmented AI, so it doesn't even have a normal user interface to make sure that bubba doesn't make the machine spirits angry. Instead he has to bring it to a techpriest who can connect his brain to the computer.
And lastly, maybe that autogun is smart enough that it doesn't fire if the barrel full of mud, because it knows that it's not safe. In that case the insane AI fragments inside may actually get angry and lock down the gun until a techpriest sings them some calming songs.
