What is the best non-restricted gun to get in Canada?

I have an RPAL but you need to get a permit just to fucking change it's location, so I dont want restricted.

You'd think it would be considering how retarded your gun laws already are.

You don't need the paper anymore to take the R stuff to the range. Its part of the license now.

Get a vz-58 and nab the STANAG conversion for it. Works on both the 5.56 and the x39.

Well anon, that's why they're retarded. The cunts who wrote these laws didn't exactly use logic when it came to choosing what got put up on the list.

Not like that's the case with any gun laws anywhere, anyway. The only cunts who lobby for this shit don't know the first thing about a firearm to begin with. Checked btw

Same thing here in australia, AR15s and shit are illegal but you can buy Barret .50cals brand new from the gun shop as well as bricks of ammo for it as well as the appropriate scopes and addons for it.

lets not forget just about any kind of ammo can be purchased or ordered in (short of incendiary).

Were in a mix of freedom and gun control with the kind of shit availible here.

We are in the same position as you guys except AR15s are legal.

I can buy (or manufacture for personal use) an M777 Howitzer on the standard gun license but I cant buy a handgun, I can buy a short barreled AR15 with a suppressor but cant a put a flash hider on it or a 30rd mag additional licenses change this but its still fucking stupid.

Yeah, I didn't really think my question through.

I somehow keep forgetting that gun grabbers only focus on how scary the gun itself looks, not what kind of round it fires.

In a way, there is fairly reasonable logic behind making things like handguns restricted while ludicrous huge guns are not. People don't rob the corner store with an anti-tank rifle.

I agree with your statement, and it does make sense that they would try to make CC capable firearms and pain in the ass to own. What rustles me is the fact they shove the AR-15 into the same category, and other salt rifles straight into the prohibited, and then some salt rifles go through RCMP limbo like the Vz58.

But at this point I'm just preaching to the choir.

I do want to pick up CZ858, but I'm paranoid that the [CURRENT YEAR] man himself may fuck me over down the road. Perhaps I should get one now and stow it away if they really do prohibit it again.

Few examples of this are as good as the $200 transfer fee burgers have for various things. Right now the money isn't a prohibitive factor for most people, but when it was enacted $200 was an utterly transparent attempt to keep applicable items out of the hands of the common man.

169c3d No.327558

At the very least you should buy an SKS and a few crates of 7.62x39 and hide them somewhere the government won't look for them

Also, OP you don't have many choices for non-restricted firearms:

VZ-58

CZ-958 (Maybe next year or so?)

Type 81 (Later this year)

Type 97

Robinson XCR

Tavor

I ended up buying a CSA VZ-58 in 7.62x39. I like it. Its expensive for what it is though.

afe8c5 No.331857

I got a Robinson Arms XCR-L in 7.62x39 a couple years ago. Now the Canadian dollar has gone to shit I wouldn't recommend one at the retail price. If you can find a used newer revision model I would recommend one. The older models has some Q/A issues.

Any decent non-restricted semi automatic rifle is going to cost a lot of money in Kanuckistan.

>>326958

>You know, I just had a thought: it's as if these laws were placed to stop poorfags, above all else, from having fun.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THE CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM IS IN PLACE

Liberals are smug cocksuckers who think they know better than you. They gave classification powers back to the RCMP too. Those powertripping bureaucrats have free reign now.

>>327558

>I ended up buying a CSA VZ-58 in 7.62x39. I like it. Its expensive for what it is though.

What kept me away from the VZ was the RCMP shennanigans. At the time the XCR was only within $500 of one so I went for it instead.

youd probably be granted amnesty or if theres enough people with them and refuse to give them up, the weapons classification can change back. i believe this happened with the SG rifles. people had them then the cops decided they were dangerous and reclassified them but people refused to hand them over without any compensation, or a very small amount, so they changed it back to non restricted

Bill C42 eliminated the paper ATT, you still need to apply for one and it will be attached to your PAL if anyone looks it up.

I just purchased a pistol and I had to wait a week for a Transfer Notification. I called the CFO and they explained the ATT is approved and stored on file with them.

>I blame the dollar, and hopefully it'll get cheaper if the dollar unfucks itself.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Everything firearms related has jacked up in price. When I got my RPAL 2 years ago I went on a spending spree because I saw shit getting jacked up in price.

- Garbage Remington 870 Express was $250, now $450

- I bought an M&P9 range kit for $550, now it is almost $800

- My XCR-L was $2200 from Wolverine Supplies, now $3k+

- Springfield 1911 Range Officer in 45ACP was $800 from Irunguns, now $1400!

- Just got a CZ 75 SP01 Shadow for $1000, used to be $800 or so

Don't peg your hopes on the Canadian dollar rising, PM Zoolander plans deficits out of the wazoo.

Even at the jacked up prices a lot of stuff sells out FAST. I think people are piling into funs to avoid higher future prices and any possible restrictions from PM DUDE WEED LMAO.

I'm happy more people are getting into funs but the supply is heavily constricted and will remain constricted into the future. LGSs are not going to drop prices again due to strong demand.

Also note that prices trail the exchange rate by 4-6 months, it will take a long time for prices to fall (if there is any hope of them falling at all).

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news but buy all the funs while you can fellow Canadabro!

9fc76c No.332808

Its not original tooling. Norinco was given the plans by Century if I recall. I have a very early production M1A from them.

I am the one who shot said moose in that. I sold that ptrd later on and to clarify the .50 cal I spoke of was .50bmg. It feels weird being immortalized like that, its like I'll never die.

You're telling me.

Shit, I bought two spam cans of 880rds 7.62x54R 3 years ago, cost me 230$ for non-chinese surplus plus 20$ shipping.

Now, they're selling the same damn thing for 400$ plus shipping, on SFRC

CanadaAmmo seems to have removed it's entire 7.62x39 inventory except some 20 packs, marstar is always out of stock.

Only SFRC seems to stock non-corrosive 7.62x39, and that's around 400$ for 1000 while I paid for my Dominion (Ukranian brand) around 300$ back in the day for 1000 on CanadaAmmo.

I mean, I could use corrosive Russian surplus in my SKS, it's chrome-lined, but before whatever happened, non-corrosive was just as expensive.

9fc76c No.334831

>>334714

Considering chinamen are manlets by most peoples standard it'll be fine for you.

>>334822

Westrifle and Lever arms usually surplus on for cheaper than that. If I recall Canadaammo has a fuckton of commercial Norinco coming in real soon.

4b8837 No.334834

>>334831

As a personal rule I avoid anything chinese, including ammo.

I still have around 700 rds of 7.62x54 and maybe 300 of 7.62x39 so I think i'll be good for the summer, I want to focus on trap, my local range has a nice 5 shooter setup, its 4$ for 25 rounds. Really cheap.

Just need to buy my ass some cheap 12 gauge. I was looking around for some 2 3/4. Got anything good to recommend?

>>334822

Also be-careful of the Lever Arms 7.62x39 'non-corrosive' ammo. There are reports of the ammo actually being corrosive. In my tests I found it to be non-corrosive, but I clean my guns after every range trip just in case.

>>334835

>>334835

Well it's chinese shit.

The new production Ukrainian shit I was buying was the real deal.

I'd rather shoot corrosive Russian surplus than anything chinese

9fc76c No.334844

>>334834

>>334841

Check your LGS, they'll probably have the bulk federal target loads coming in real soon, like 70-80 dollars for 250 rounds.

Nothing wrong with chink ammo in all honesty, I wished they made steel cased 8mm.

There is no better feeling than going into the woods with a skeet thrower and people just coming outta the woodworks to shoot clay pigeons

>>334835

I know about that, they were for the longest time the sole Norinco rep, they've got a SVD in 5.56 in their shop with a whole bunch of other neat shit. I have a feeling its commercial stuff that got cockblocked going to the states that ended up being mixed with surplus. I know the x54r Canada ammo brought was made with the corrosive primers due to a factory fuck up.

169c3d No.334848

>>334844

Lever Arms does have some cool stuff. The SKS bandoliers are great at $15. Their used VZ-58 mags work perfectly and are nice and cheap. One of the guys running the counter seems like a real jerk until you come in a few times and get to know him better. After that he's ok.
