Also I saw gun Jesus made a video about the Kel-Tec RDB which looks pretty cool but doesn't seem to be available anywhere (other than two guns I found on gunbroker, but they're about $800 more than Kel-Tec's MSRP.
So is there any advantage to getting an Aug that takes the waffle mags /k/? Also general bullpup thread I guess.

Take that with a word of salt, though, since I hate bullpups and don't plan to get one. MSBS gets a pass because it comes as a carbine first, although it sounds like it's fat as shit.
The quick change barrel feature is certainly interesting on the AUG.
I would pick one up if I was a collector, though.

So supposedly the NATO stocks which take AR mags are right hand only, so I guess I'm going to have to go with the original stock with Steyr mags. Sometimes it sucks being left handed.

If it makes you feel any better I know a ex Recon Marine who shoots a ton in his spare time loves his AUG and it's his "main" rifle. I have held it, more balanced than a Tavor in my opinion.
I would agree the RDB looks very promising, but I think it should really become more available over time, I'm not even sure if its actually released yet.

Now since the beginning of the 20th century we have seen the clamps slowly tightening on our economic freedom again, and never forget there is no freedom without economic freedom.

>Also has the Desert Tech promising gotten any closer? It's been like 3 years now or something right?
If I'm not wrong, the last release date they were aiming for was July or something like that. I believe they said at some point that they were going for a 1MOA mark in order to let the rifle leave the factory (as in during QC procedure once production starts). They also said there were going to be target shooting (really light) triggers available later on and some other accessories. Everything regarding the promised functionality seemed to be there on the last SHOT show… of course, it was shot, so we don't know how that part goes.
>Also the K&M arms M17, I have heard lots of "meh" things about it, but its suppose to be very simple
The main issue seems to be the handguard getting hot. The rifle doesn't have a heat shield and the whole lower is a single chunk of aluminium. It's kind of bound to get hot pretty fast, specially considering how close the barrel is to the lower part of the handguard. I'm pretty sure one could put together a heat shield and add thermoplastic handguard insert for your hand with relative ease; not sure why on earth they aren't doing that, but as a DIY work, it shouldn't be a problem. It takes AR trigger assemblies (drop-in swap apparently) and it already comes with an -allegedly- high end trigger. There is a .308 version available now and they are working on a 6.5 grendel version too.

I'm going to go with since the founding of the United States, the Articles of Declaration was very quickly scrapped for a compromise. Which led to the documents we have now which are far more controlling/authoritarian/federal. Since then it has obviously only gotten more so, some presidents/congresses held it back some, but none have ever really turned it back.
Pretty much the best way to describe it is that any time you try and get authority to let up some it fails completely. There are exceptions but I would say 95% of the time you gain nothing back.
>some cheap m1 garands
Ya that would be nice, but I would say Cruz has a better probability of letting that happen. Maybe even Rubio (even though he is screwed and its over for him). At least with Cruz there is a stronger history of pro-gun movements, I would bet big money that he would do more for import bans than Trump.

According to official sources: The msrp for the 5.56 version is $1999. The .308 version goes for $2249.
The conversion kits go like this: $749 for the 5.56 kit and $999 for the .308.
In essence, you have a $1250 platform with kits you can add on top. It is also going to come out on .300niggersout and, maybe, more calibers in the future.
If they stick to the 1MOA promise and the rifle works well and reliably with a good trigger, I would say the prices are more than fair enough. A Scar doesn't get you more than that and it cost a couple of hundred more (comparing MSRP). Retail price might be lower.
I'd say they have a pretty good business between their hands.

Steyr-Mannlicher, along with Glock and other Austrian firearms manufacturers closed down their factories a couple decades ago and completely relocated their businesses into the United States. >free-floated barrel
It's semi free-floated due to how the action is attached to the ported part of the barrel (I'm pretty sure this could be "solved" with some custom parts and whatnot).
Also worth saying: the vast, VAST majority of the rifles don't have free floated barrels. The majority of the ARs with delta-ring barrel attachment aren't free-floated, almost all of the AKs and variants aren't free floated, the SVD is semi free-floated OOTB, KEK-tec bullpup isn't freefloated, I'm pretty sure the Bren805 isn't free-floated (but I could be wrong on this one), the Tavor isn't free-floated (has a barrel band because lel, IWI), the AUG isn't free floated, the G3 and its off-spings aren't free floated by default (only some models and 1 or 2 PTR91 are free floated), the FAL isn't free-floated and I could probably go on.
