I need your help, /k/ommandos. I will be able to buy my first gun in 3 years, and I will have a 600 dollar budget if my financial plan works out. I cannot build any guns. I hope for a good rifle, but a handgun will suffice. I am considering a surplus SKS, link related. https://www.impactguns.com/surplus-firearms.aspx

may as well get the 91/30 and use the rest of your budget and get surplus ammo

Start with a .22, like a 10/22 or a Marlin Model 60.

Help me /k/, I'll be able to buy my first gun in 6 years, I'm already pretty efficient with a sword (kill creepers and zombies every day haha) so I'll be able to handle the bigger bullets like 50cal. Thanks.

10/10 .22lr

Can't say it's good for much but plinking and squirrel hunting, but I have my dad's one which was a 1980 something, and mine which dates to the late 2000's. The one my dad bought has a nicer stock, but both work equally well. I really need to get a girl knocked up so I have a son to pass all my guns to.

I'm good with more than a .22

Underageb& detected.

Underageb&s are allowed on 8ch, it's up to the board owners whether or not they're allowed.

I could always get a cheap nugget and spend up what's left on ammo

>spend up what's left on ammo

This is half the reason people recommend something in .22 for a first rifle. It's not only avoiding the problems associated with trying to run before you can walk, but also being free to put as many rounds through it as you want.

My Marlin Model 60 was only $140, so I'd say buy that and then once you get comfortable with .22 get a full-sized rifle.

41fc1e No.329050

I'll have $240 after the $600, I just wanted that set aside for anything else I'd need, like ammo. I have shot .22s, AR15s, and a couple of handguns before, though. I do want a 10/22, but I want something with higher power first just in case something happens.

Howdy /leftypol/, I recommend you build an AR or get an AK-74 for your first gun, they both have little to no recoil and ammo is generally cheap and available, as is the aftermarket. I wouldn't get your heart set on the SKS because by the time you get old enough to start preparing your revolution against the evil bourgeoisie (like your parents) they will have probably completely dried up.

Assuming you aren't in a no fun state, go ahead and get a cheap AR and upgrade it. I found some at a gun show in VA last weekend for about $560.

You could also get an AK variant, but that's up to you.

If shotguns aren't out of the question, look into the Remington 870. I have two and I love them. You can usually pick them up pretty relatively cheap, assuming you don't go for the camo'd out turkey hunting version.

If you buy anything that's got a detachable mag, you're probably going to want to buy more mags. You can't ever have too many mags.
