The Bongs use ARs for their special units and as his units primary roles is keeping him alive I dare say they qualify.

I feel a little bad for him, he wanted to actually fight but isn't allowed because of the PR issues that would come from his death or capture. That said anyone else would have ended up in prison for taking a Chinook to visit their girlfriend so it goes both ways.
