My original idea was that, instead of a defined mercenary company, there were many freelancer fighters (think in Loners without the Zone) taking jobs and being paid for them, yet banding together on the very juicy but dangerous jobs. This is because every kommando has his own resources and supplies (one has a farm and can gib food, other has a truck, other has some diesel, other has some spare guns, etc.), and the one who brings more shit to the group will obviously get a bigger share of the loot and the payment. This is inspired by actual history, as old medieval spaniards did this kind of things, and surely other guys in military history have done the same.

The african take is good too, I like it. Freelancing /k/ommandos supported by some shitty nig goverment who's too poor to pay the big PMCs to fight against chinese-sponsored guerrillas.

You mean 90's Africa or today's Africa ? That happens today there. Less diamons though.

I would argue that the golden age of soldier of fortune is today, but less fortune more like middle class. Europe will be the center though, in the next decade.

Can it be Magnificent Five ? Seven is too big of a team, too risk, too complex. 4, 5 is the sweet spot.

As usual with the chinese, they already got not as good trained but efficient, cheap private contractors. I would also expect at least 2 tier 1 operators on the team, but there is more SOF on Pol than here, we need to mix the boards for a efficient private company.
