there are a couple other mini ground attack aircraft designs of the time, but none as cool looking.

the aerodynamics look completely functional, though I'm not sure about the in-swept vertical stabilizers.

actually Macross Plus was released in 1994 so the VF-11 might have been based on this.

Say what you will, but 90% of the series' superweapons are based on Belkan advancements. There would be no Aigaion, Spiridus, or Gleipnir without Hresvelgr, no Arkbird laser without Excalibur, and Ace Combat 3 as a whole wouldn't have occurred without Z.O.E/COFFIN technology.

What was with the shitty international version with the linear plotless cinematicless campaign and the unrealistic performance planes?

Why the fuck NAMCO thought it was a good idea to not just translate the nip version?

f831bc No.329980

>>329968

I never understand why localizers feel the need to mess with stats, but my general assumption when cutting up the story is that "voice actors are expensive".

e34760 No.329986

>>329980

I think it would have countered it by sales.

Not sure about the slaes globally but Ace Combat2 made the franchise and AC3 kind bottomed as an obscure title.

I was fucking hyped to buy the translated (and finally know what the story was about) and then that baka gaijin piece of shit (with the autism triggering Mach6 out of fucking nowhere performance) came and made me not buy a console ever again.

15d955 No.329996

>>329968

AC3 wasn't expected to do very well overseas after its unimpressive Japanese launch, so Namco severely cut back the localization budget.

e34760 No.330019

>>329996

How can the nips create so cool stuff when they have such shitty taste?

AC3 was kinda breakthrough in combining elaborate and encapturing storytelling and plot branching (with full anime cutscenes and shot!)'with an off-the-rail FPS/flight simulator.

For fucks shake I could hardly spell sayonara back then and still managed to understand the essence of the plot solely by the convincing voice acting, expressive animated characters and dramatic unfolding.

AC3 had earned a place in my teenhood next to AC2, Castlevania: SotN, Starcraft, Diablo and Sonic&Knuckles*donut judge without even speaking A WORD of the fucking language!

Engines are separate from the body so that there is no heat signature in the body, and thus less damage from heat seeking missiles to the body itself.

Between the body and the engine is a thicker inner wing, which can bear the aircraft aloft given it drops the ordnance. The outer wings serve mostly for extra lift.

One downside of the scorpion is that it has too few and too small control surfaces, which is inexcuseable for an aircraft meant to fly at low altitude. Another downside is that the components are not interchangeable from one side of the aircraft to the other, or easily repairable if they should be damaged.

Overall I would say it's similar to the more conventional Boeing Skyfox or the more popular Textron Scorpion (the name is no a coincidence) in capability.

I remember old Thundercats, Smurfs, Inspector Gadget, Silverhawks, Lady and the Trump and primitive Chinese Cartoon dubs back in the late 80s-early 90s VHS tapes were hundred folds more expressive than the later clique of TV actors that redub'd the same cartoons and all Disney's shit after the later half of the 90s.

The laterfags stopped being good after Aladdin. Swear to God, these literal faggots could only act one character (themselves).

I blame the Lavender Conspiracy for that.

I think you are missing the point.

War is the periodical phenomenon of colective human behavior during which humanity progresses by leaps through wasting insummerable amounts of resources into logistical nightmares just in the hope that an idea is so crazy that it might actually work.

Without this there's no War, just bloodshed and barbarism…

1af3bf No.330070

I think when it came to AC Superweapons outmaneuvering the Excalibur's/Aigion's long range weaponry made more sense than winning 1 vs 100 dogfights against fighter aircraft of equal or slightly better technological level just because you were so damn good (while multi-player game easily proves that you are not). There was never a good explanation while enemy pilots flew worse than drunk Arabs (except maybe AC2/AHL and maybe infinity where the majority of pilots could be assumed being rugclad rebels with two hours of pilot training).

To do this, I just record a clip of my voice at a sample rate of 48kHz, in stereo (to duplicate the waveform into two channels), then convert the sample type to 11.whatever kHz, run a distortion filter across the whole thing, then flange one side, and merge into monaural sound. I use Cool Edit Pro 2, which is now Adobe Audition. I learned how to do this by trying for years to figure out how the Transformers voice effect was done, albeit in vain, as I haven't yet gotten it to the point where it would be hard to tell if it was done for the show or not. There's a dearth of information on the process, and that was all originally done with analog equipment in the eighties.

Anywho, if you're looking for more spess plen action, check out Yukikaze, an older anime from about ten or so years back. It is most accurately described as "the story of the love between a man, another man, and his airplane".

Though to be accurate, the former is more admiration, and the latter is because of the plane's silent AI.
