I don't care how well you try to discipline your child - four year olds don't even have proper memory permanence yet. Four year olds barely grasp concepts of danger beyond that of an animal. They can't understand the mortal ramifications, most aren't even self aware of their own mortality. There is little lasting benefit to having supervised training with a gun for a 4 year old. All she did was normalize the concept of using guns. They can't grasp concepts such as when its okay. All a 4 year old can comprend is "yay boom boom". Might not even have been inclined to use the gun like that were he not "trained".
