3f21b3 No.330114

For those that are unaware there was a dindu nuffin (complete with prior prison sentence in the max security wing of one of our hardest prisons) who shot at 4 officers doing a sweep for marijuana in forestry with a shotgun and .22lr rifle after they presumably found his plantation.

The dindu (who again, dindu nuffin) then had an armed standoff with police which lasted for 22 hours before surrendering (embed related).

http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/2016/03/usual-suspects-pushing-for-gun-control-after-kawerau/

Following this several opposition members of parliament from the Greens (environmental commies) have said that we need more gun control including mandatory registration for all firearms, current police and corrections minister (a woman) has come out and said that we dont need more gun control since

>similar regimes overseas have proven “very ineffective and very expensive”, while doing little to stop criminals accessing guns

and

>"All that will do is add a huge amount of work to police…for very little outcome, because all the people who are legally in charge of firearms would go and register them, and all the criminals wouldn’t."

Instead she feels that the best way to combat gun crime would be to give police greater ability to search the homes of people convicted of prior firearms offenses

>Instead she favours a regime of firearm prohibition orders, currently being developed, which would allow police to search the homes of those with previous gun offences to ensure they did not have any weapons.

So /k/, it seems that the person who will ultimately gave to sign into law any more gun control in NZ says that further gun control wont work at stopping gun crime, thoughts?

61a00f No.330116

I think your police and corrections minister realizes that laws do not prevent crimes, but instead only make them punishable.

She sounds pretty good. Is she a qt?

7d7921 No.330117

that wouldn't work here since it violates the 4th amendment (not that the USG follows any law that it doesn't care to), but not a bad idea considering how "the usual suspects" these crims are.

>Is she a qt?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_Collins

Page is a old, she actually came back to parliament after they basically begged her to since her placement was so fucking useless.

Some of her other policies include the seizing and crushing of street racers cars, and the resistance to police being armed with handguns (they instead have a lockbox in their cars with an M16) and instead being given tazers.

I feel for you Austrailians. You guys are a culture of rough dudes that just want to drink your beer and shoot your guns in peace, but have to deal with the fact that your cities run the scenes with a bunch of naive hipsters that thought captain planet was a documentary and not a cartoon.

But I am happy that your police realize that more gun laws just makes for harder to control policies and criminals that "gasp" are gonna still gonna use guns no matter how many laws you put down to prevent it.

Too bad thought majority of online Aussies I talk to are all liberal cucks that drank the kool aid hard and refuse to have any political debate on the topic simply because "HURR AUSTRALIA NUMBER 1 YOU FUCKING AMERICAN CUNT WE HAVE NO GUN CRIME YOU REDNECKS XD XD"….I swear if I could take you fucks to America and show you how safe it is to live here you would all shut up. Also our beer is superior yeah I said it.

Being quarter maori and having to grow up around far north savages, I can tell you without a doubt,

prison doesn't do shit.

They go in, make mates with better criminals and become better criminals before they leave.

The only effective measure I can see is no tolerance for this shit, lashings and then solitary confinement.

You can't teach maori the way you teach european kids, every time they fuck up you must humiliate them in front of everyone who they respect.

I've seen it work multiple times with primary and HS teachers.

On a side note the families that have one scum child that gets caught tend to be all scum of on sort or another.

Its not supposed to but muh living document types keep trying to erode that so they can do as they please, which is why theres not a lot of opposition against civil forfeiture, which it sounds like shes 100% for. If you dont know how bad civil forfeiture is peoples houses in philly have been confiscated after their grandkids got caught with weed, and theres basicly no avenues to get it back. And sometimes reasonable doubt mostly comes out to a padded version of i dont like this guy and i also want his money.

>If you dont know how bad civil forfeiture is peoples houses in philly have been confiscated after their grandkids got caught with weed

Our government isn't that tyrannical fortunately and if the government was stupid enough to do such a thing it would be voted out next election after the opposition based their entire campaign on it. The only time the police can seize a property is if its a drug lab or similar and it must be returned to the owner immediately following the criminal investigation.

>which it sounds like shes 100% for

I doubt it, but even if she was I would prefer her over someone pushing muh gun control like everywhere else.

>No-bullshit "gun you really want when you need a gun" in the trunk

that sounds pretty good for australia, but i'm just a burger. if the cop car was very, very, very securely locked all the time with all those who have access being thrown in the fucking sea if they don't practice safety like a monk practices hating fun, they should definitely have three M16s in the back, with load bearing vests for each officer. one with a 16 or 18 inch barrel if shit is really awful, and two with 11.5 or 14 inch barrels for what cops would usually use longarms for.

3f21b3 No.330265

They have bulletproof vest with them as well and have ready access to a G17 when in the car.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Police

>The New Zealand Police calls itself an 'unarmed service' with its officers not carrying firearms. Officers carry OC spray (pepper spray), batons and Tasers.

>Since 2012, frontline vehicles have had a locked box in the passenger foot-well containing a loaded and holstered Glock 17, and in the rear of the vehicle, there is at least one Bushmaster rifle secured in a case together with ballistic vests.

>Officers are required to advise their supervisor or communications if a firearm is to be retrieved from their vehicle and carried.

They also wear stab-proof vests at all times.

>>330328

>In all honesty New Zealand happy your police force is wising up to gun laws

Its a mix when it comes to the police, the top police guys like the chief are anti-gun because they are hardcore statists while most of the arms officers are staunchly pro-gun. When it comes to frontline cops I think its mixed between anti/neutral/pro with the majority being neutral.

>>330467

You can actually hover your mouse over the flag and it will come up with the name of the country.

f6bc96 No.330594

>>330467

With a tiny flag it's easier to check whether there's a star beneath the Union Jack or not. The Aussie flag has one, while ours doesn't.

The NZ flag also uses darker shades of blue and red. So combined with the red stars it looks quite a bit darker overall.
