You did notice the trigger, right? That's not a 1911. The slide looks similar and it's a steel framed gun, but it's not a 1911.

The only gun I'm aware of that would match all the visible features is a Smith and Wesson 4500 series or a similar model.

I've considered that maybe it could be a fake, but they're native so it's really easy for them to get handguns. Probably cheaper than buying a convincing fake. Some of the reserves are on both sides of the border so they can bring through as much tobacco, guns and dope as they want.
