Except with pistols, now that was miserable. Those were some Somalian-tier groupings I made at ranges i'm too ashamed to disclose.

Left eye dominant, right handed, injury keeps me from shooting left handed. Anything less then blocking my whole eye doesn't work.

I use an eyepatch a lot of times because my squinting → blinking → flinching

Right-handed, left eye dominant here. For most things I find it much easier to either use my right eye or find a right-handed position that will allow me to use my left eye than to use my left hand. The exception is archery, where I find it much more comfortable to shoot left-handed.

If you're close enough to use a knife, then you'd be better off with either the knife or gun in your right hand close to your body and your left hand free to grapple and block.

I did read once that cross dominance is an advantage for operators operating operationally because using a long gun in your off hand makes it faster to draw and fire a pistol with your dominant hand. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's bullshit.

Hold your finger a foot away from your face, focus on your finger tip, but pay attention to your peripheral vision, then close one eye, open it, then close the other eye. When you close your dominant eye, your finger should move in comparison to an object further past your focus.

You're right eyed probably, make sure you object you're lining your finger up with is close enough that a change in position is noticeable, if you're trying to do it across the room you probably will be confused. I'm using the light at the bottom of my computer screen, and my finger moves a solid and noticeable three-four inches when I close my left eye.

I have something called convergience insufficiency which is pretty much what you just described. To train your eyes tonot be retarded, take a pen and hold it out arms length. Slowly pull it to the tip of your nose, focusing on the tip of the pen only. The moment you see the pen go double, start over again.

I had to do this for about 15 minutes a day for a couple weeks but now i dont have a focusing problem anymore. It wouldnt hurt to see an eye doctor about it either.

I just learned to shoot left handed. Righty bolts don't bother me, and neither does brass flying in my face. It's just more comfortable for me at this point. Plus my right eye is pretty bum.
