A well trained shooter with a bolt action rifle can do much more than degenerate kids with semi-automatic or even automatic weapons.

The general consensus on 8/k/ is that Jeff Cooper is a shit and that everyone, regardless of training and doctrine, is better with a modern semi auto, as opposed to Cooper's decade long study, finding that a your average civilian ad their degree of skill, perform better with a scout rifle, than a semi auto, in most instances except MOUT.

Proofs in the pudding, As Afghan engagement ranges suggest, the Snackbar with the Mosin/Enfield is on average a bigger threat to ISAF combatants than one armed with an AKM.

the afghans with the Enfields were tribesmen that used those lifelong to hunt and shoot, Soviet Afghan war. they're mostly dead. their idiot kids are using the AKMs, they have none of the skill. long range shooting is a taught and perishable skill, it's dead in Afghanistan.

the real modern long range goatfucker threat is PKMs. also SPG9s, RPGs, mortars, DShK.
