Planning on ordering a Mosin from Southern Ohio Gun, been thumbing through their options for a little bit. Decided on a Tula, but is an extra ten bucks worth spending on "handpicked"? I hear those are really hit-or-miss at other companies.

Pic kinda related.

Bamp?

On one hand, it's a nugget, and one near the end of its "it's a cheap gun that shoots cheap" life cycle, so they'll all be pretty fucking awful for whatever price you pay and the people there will probably just glance at it before pocketing the $10 no matter what it looks like.

On the other hand, it's a good idea to at least TRY to guarantee getting a not-completely-shit nugget, and $10 is hardly a fortune.

Fair point. I'm just already up to around $225 for it, though I guess considering the jackasses in my area are selling beat-up T53s for $300+, I can't do worse.

The Type 53 rifle is a Chinese copy of the M44.

But yeah, we can also buy tanks.

Son, you can buy a MiG 29 if you the have five million dollars to spend on it.

There is no such thing as a T-53 tank.

Ten bucks is a good investment on anything, can't even buy a handjob from a hooker for that. I'd rather there be some small chance that there exists a mythical honorable seller that would check if the gun was functional instead of just pocketing the money, fucking the trigger guard and cumming into the breech.

It's really a great gun, not hugely accurate but what accuracy it has is hard to fuck with. I've even leaned it against trees so I can climb to a blind, and it still shot true.

if you are looking for a cheap nugget just get a m91/30 they are everywhere, I even found one at cabelas

As a sidenote, how common is nugget food? I realize it's cheap, but how often am I going to run into it in, say, a SHTF type deal?

cabelas prices are ridiclous, they were charging over 500 for a type 56 sks with no bayonet

it's going down in supply, unless you find a prepper or there's a communist invasion you're unlikely to find it

Buy a spam can. My LGS sells them for 120 each. You get 440 rounds. Look up how to open them if you don't have a can opener.
