Possibly an ISIS flag band?

The bowling alley down the block has two outside cameras, and the dollar store up the street has one. If he went towards the city proper, then some of the first things he'd pass are a couple banks, town hall, the police headquarters, and the library. He could have gone to the residential area, however, which is way less urban and doesn't have any kind of surveillance.

All of the religions had initial stages with different goals. Christianity didn't became the religion of pity and peace over night (see Donatism, Novatism before it and a whole lot of other shit that justified even murder in the name of religion and its greater good). Again, the problem isn't the religion itself, the problem is that they are -culturally speaking- stuck in time and, by extension, so is their religion.
