Well yeah that's the problem. It isn't the memes themselves or even that they are forced, but that they're getting largely off-topic and made only because people feel it's their duty to make memes.

In terms of content there's little one can do except make threads, even filler threads are better than meta thread #3029, "Good night /int/", etc…

Yes, making casual discussion threads seems to be the best course of action. Hopefully we can have new memes spring off from those discussions, rather than the spam we're currently seeing. That being said, I think it's extremely important that we don't forget the estonian debts man
