It's ideal. You have absolutely no experience with drawing but you took your time to try and scan it anyway. That's why we should accept it as the mascot - because it embodies the kind of idealism and good-heartiness that /kind/ is all about. Besides, the drawing is cute in its naivety, so just like /kind/ - so hopelessly kind that on the verge of being ignorant. To sum it up, it looks as if an actual kind loli drew it.

Style of western artists is too often too individualistic and too self-aware for a /kind/ mascot. The mascot should be humble, simple and should bring connotations of kindness and goodness while at the same time not bringing attention to itself. This is what makes Akari perfect mascot, by the way. The only reason why I voted against her is because the inside joke of her being always ignored and turned away is way, way too good to pass. She should be replaced indeed.
Too many board mascots fail. They're okay as characters on their own and they're decently drawn, but they are forced in that there's not much reason to use them after they're "chosen". It's rare and amazing that we already have a character like Akari who gets associated with the board genuinely and not arbitrarily: not because of a hat with "kind" written on it but because she fits so well. Perhaps it would have been the best if no one ever asked about a mascot and she just kept being used spontaneously in the context of anti-bully ranger scene.
