Tulpa, or better known as a Mind Golem, are a semi-sentient delusion you create within your subconscious and, if used correctly, allows you better control of your thoughts and mental prowess and they can also act as your mental secretary. Or waifu if you're into that kind of thing.

YOU BETTER HAVE A KILL SWITCH IF YOU MAKE ONE

 No.21797

Yesterday I learned that otters promote kelp forests, because they're the primary predator of sea urchins, which graze upon the kelp. In areas where otters have been extirpated through overhunting for fur, the kelp forests are absent or very small and weak because the urchins get out of control and eat all the kelp. There are also more fish in areas with kelp forests, because they provide habitat for juvenile fish. The fish aren't bigger though, because there's more competition among them. So otters are surprisingly important.

>>21777

I have a tulpa. He's more like an imaginary friend and no kill switch is necessary. They don't "go rogue," it's just segmenting part of your mind into a different label.

Let's learn Japanese, friends!

>First, completely disown rōmaji and learn the two syllabaries of the language: hiragana and katakana. Learn the stroke order as well; the Japanese are very strict about it.

>Next, get Rikaikun if you are using Chrome or Rikaichan if you are using Firefox. When enabled, both of them will translate any Japanese word or character you hover over.

(I didn't find this one particularly attractive, but if you like learning informally, then this would work well for kanji.)

(Complement to the Genki I book that I will include in the dump below.)

https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/top/?sort=top&t=all

https://www.renshuu.org/

(Think a mix between Wanikani and Anki.)

>If you do want to obtain resources in print, you could check out some reviews of them online. Bear in mind that these are usually the reviews of one person and may not necessarily reflect your learning style.

>Both could also qualify as helpful free resources, and they talk about Japanese culture quite a lot.

http://japanesetease.net/

http://www.tofugu.com/

>(Make sure to obtain a vocabulary dictionary, a kanji dictionary, some grammar guides, and a bunch of textbooks if you are willing to do this.)

>Finally, I'm including a relatively small dump of three beginner's textbooks (Genki I, Minna no Nihongo, and Japanese for Busy People) and a few extra stuff, like the pdf form of the entire http://www.guidetojapanese.org/ website. The extra stuff is located in the folder called "Japanese," because I'm a lazy weeaboo and didn't rename it.

>Can't it be both my waifu and mental secretary?

I don't see why not. Don't listen to the people who make a big deal of it, it's literally just an imaginary friend that you put more effort into. What it is just depends on what you want it to be. And unless you're already very mentally unstable, it's impossible for them to take over your body and kill you or whatever. That stuff's no more than creepypasta. So I think you should go for it, I made mine because I was lonely and horrible at making friends, and I still don't have "real" friends but I'm much less lonely now.

The fig is a metaphor for a person. You. A combination of body & soul.

The fig tree is unusual in the fact that there are male & female fig trees.

On the female fig tree the unripe fig is pollinated by a little fig wasp. The wasp ( your soul) enters into the hole at the bottom of the unripe fig and in the process gets its wings torn off. ( your soul after entering into your body is now trapped inside the flesh no longer a free spirit.'wings' have been stripped )

Unable to escape the unripe fig (your body) consumes the wasp in the process of ripening and the wasp becomes part of the ripe fig fruit.

So there we have it the finished product a ripe fig what you are today. A combination of body and soul.

Fresh figs are delicious btw

Too bad the season for them is so short.

Nature is full of so many weird things

Theres an ant in the rainforest that becomes mind controlled by a certain spore, the spore causes it to climb a tree, latch on and die. A mushroom grows from the ant's head and begins dropping spores, and the cycle continues.

There is this snail that a worm preys on, a worm crawls inside of the snails head and eats its eyes from the inside. The snail climbs a tree where a bird will come by and eat the snail's head and the worm inside it. The snail survives, grows a new head and eyes, and goes on its way.

Theres a type of fish that lives in a large school. All of them are born female. If the one and only male dies, the largest female changes its sex and becomes the new male.

I can't site sources for all of this, I saw most of this on a show called Nova.

The Marbled Cone Snail produces the strongest venom of any creature on earth.

It hunts by smell alone and does not move often. When it smells a fish in front of it, it shoots out a poisonous harpoon, instantly killing the fish. The harpoon is attached to a tendon which the snail pulls back in and then it consumes its prey.

I just recalled that there are actually more than three.

Two verbs, する and くる (all verbs written without kanji), have entirely irregular conjugations. They therefore have their own verb group.

Likewise, ある (usually used with だ/です) is irregular in some tenses, but いる isn't irregular. You're probably referring to いく, which is also not entirely irregular.

Those are just the ones at the beginning stage. Fortunately, there's only a few in the entire language, even at the advanced level.

> This yearly occurrence has been named the "Halloween fireballs," and they tend to start up at the end of October and continue through until around the 10th of November.

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/taurid-meteor-shower-sends-fireballs-shooting-across-the-sky/59356/

>Every year, from the end of October through until the beginning of December, the northern Taurid meteor shower sends flashes of light across the sky, as Earth sweeps up bits of ice and rock as it passes through a wide stream of debris left behind by the passage of a comet through the inner solar system. As the tiny grains of dust and ice plunge into Earth's atmosphere travelling at speeds of around 100,000 kph, they compress the air in their path, heating it up to glowing hot temperatures and producing bright meteor trails through the night sky.

Urine can be used to neutralize a jellyfish sting.

Urine can be used to treat various fungal infections, such as Athletes foot.

Urine is sterile.

Urine contains many important proteins, and Enzymes of America is now collecting it through their subsidiary, which provides portable toilets, to be processed into medical supplies.

Urine contains nitrates, making it an excellent fertilizer for plants.

The active ingredient in proven moisturizers is a substance called Urea. Can you guess where this substance is found?

If it is from the skin simply drying out, I am sure that massaging a little into the hands would help. However, if the cracking is from rough work with the hands, I am not sure if it would solve the problem. Be sure to report the results if you do try it.

There are galaxies right now that are receding from us at a speed greater than light speed, and yet they arent moving faster than light. This is because relativity prohibits objects moving through space faster than light. But there are no speed limits on space expansion itself.

The fat Buddha you almost always see is not the "real" Buddha. In Buddhism there are many Buddhas, but the first one (Gautama Siddhartha) was, well, the first. The fat one is named Putai (Hotei to the Japanese), and he's either a Bodhisattva (an "almost-Buddha" who has renounced Nirvana so he can stay behind until "all the blades of grass are Buddha") or a Buddha in association with Maitreya Buddha, a Buddha from the future who will be Gautama's successor in a time when Buddhism is all but forgotten.

Putai/Hotei is a jolly fat bastard who collects trash in a huge bag and hands it out to children because they're not yet indoctrinated into the adult worldview that trash is trash, so in there innocence they see all things as treasure.

By the way, the main difference between Christianity and Buddhism, is that while Jesus began as the son of a carpenter and ascended beyond the world, Gautama began as the son of a king and descended back down to earth. Make of that what you will.

Doesnt buddhism put a stronger emphasis on ascetism rather than doing good? Also iirc buddhism, like many eastern religions believes in karma and reencarnation in contrast to christianitys resurection.

Buddhism is mainly about the Middle Way between hedonism and aesceticism. And about ending suffering.

You're right about it not being about good. The Hindus were definitely less naive about human nature in seeing that people tend to break what they make. Buddhism and Hinduism alike are more concerned about wisdom than good, definitely.

For example, one "rule" (nothing is hard and fast in Buddhism) is not to kill, but that's mainly because if you do, you'll be spending all your time running from the guy pissed you murdered his son instead of meditating.

This isn't exactly true.

Consider 3 objects, A, B and C.

A moves at 0.99c to the left. (c being the speed of light)

B remains stationary in the middle.

C moves at 0.99c to the right.

A would observe B moving away at 0.99c and C moving away at something like 0.999c (less than the speed of light).

B would observe both A and C to be moving at 0.99c in opposite directions.

C would observe A moving away at ~0.999c and B moving away at 0.99c.

In other words, in any given reference frame you will never see anything move faster than the speed of light.

That site has everything, with instant previews and direct downloads, plus easy search/navigation.

I recommend orchestral stuff there, there's some pretty good stuff, for cute stuff look up the Denpa category (just type to start the search), there's even Denpa+Metal stuff (I'm afraid).

Jellyfish are underwater mushrooms, and reproduce sexually and asexually.

When jellyfish medusas (the phase of jellyfish everyone knows of) release their reproductive fluids into the water, if they successfully fertilize then it will create a planula larva, which will drift to a solid surface and sprout into a polyp. This polyp will grow like a sea anemone, and over time will reproduce asexually within itself until it becomes a budding polyp. A budding polyp will release many juvenile jellyfish, known as ephyra. These ephyra will eventually grow into Medusa, and reproduce again.

Also, if you're stung by a jellyfish, splash water on it, don't rub it on. Their venom is more like a bee's than a snake's, and rubbing it on can actually cause it to worsen. Another method for treatment is pouring acidic substances on it, like vinegar, coke, or pepsi (or urine, in emergencies).
