now that I think about it, I'm taking on a bulk of the work, all you would have to do is get the sheet music I send you, and sing the shit out of it along with a synthesized version of the song (probably)

Pianist friend is actually just about finished with arranging the parts; by next week I think we'll be recording and slapping things together. I can't wait

We're not dead, but most of us have been busy with finals and the end of the semester. But if this works out pretty well we might do some more stuff to share with everybody.

oh shit, i haven't checked on this thread in a while, but yeah, everyone's welcome to join.

also a problem we ran into is that we have nobody to play the melody. everything is done except for that, but the guitarist who was gonna play the melody had his amp break. So right now we still desperately need someone to play/sing the melody

Bass, piano, sax, clarinet, a guitarist temporarily without an amp, and a flutist temporarily without a flute.

Also to anybody else who hasn't abandoned interest in this, we couldn't finish the song because our the amp the guitarist was going to use decided to go to sleep. So once that gets fixed all that needs doing is grafting that part into the rest of the mix. Until then I guess we're just sitting on our hands. And we do have some ideas for our next song, but don't hold me to it.

You guys have no duramaa..? thats a shame. I thought there were plenty of drummer lurking on 8chan, its not that I can't play drum, is just that I don't even have one to play. baka.

Well at least I could still practice all the drum strokes on my lap. Also, is not that hard to compose a drum line midi nowadays right?

Since you guys have sax player, this band would likely be a jazz genre like band.

yeah, its not too hard to compose a drum line in Finale atleast, and the program helps notate it as well. And kinda, our first song was jazz, but we're not limiting ourselves to it.
