>Not him but for a start I dislike that next cant embed youtube videos
This was an intentional change. The way embeds are done currently we need to fetch thumbnails from youtube's servers, which can be used to track users. In the interest of privacy, it's planned to be changed to the way halfchan does youtube embedding, which is generally superior anyway.
>date format
The date format can be changed from the options. Not sure why Josh decided to make the default what it is, but at least it's easy to fix.
>filename itself for single image posts
Josh probably just hasn't taken the time to change this. I don't think it's a big deal either way.
>unneeded buttons like spoiler and remove (that can be fixed with css right?)
Yes.
I don't know why those options aren't under the pop-out menu.
>probably just another bug related to smaller boards
The issue is with the import. Quote preview doesn't work with the posts that were imported. It should work fine on new posts.
>Not saying its terrible, but this just feels like change for the sake of change.
A lot of Next gave me that impression, but not all of it.>>25672
>rework on the database engine and shit for proper updating and loading speed is all what was needed in my opinion.
I might be misinterpreting your post, so forgive me if I am
Reworking the database is not easy with 8chan's current software. It would probably take more work to do so than it would to write Next.
Adding new features to the current software is also almost impossible. It's true that if no additional features were added it wouldn't be that bad for 8chan, but there are still a lot of things that would be nice to have, like better tools for Board Owners.

> a clear case of the it is the change in text formatting
The text formatting was changed to Markdown's defaults (with a few exceptions). I don't think Josh did this because he thought it would be better, but because he thought it would be easier. That way we have text formatting that works out of the box. There will, hopefully, be some changes to it later, as it does have issues.
This wasn't done as "change for the sake of change" but rather because it was the default of the software he used, and it can be fixed fairly easily.
>I can't *whip out my dick*
There should be a character that escapes formatting, like "\", so you can do that. I don't know if there is something like that on Next, but that's normally how it's done.
So you'd have to type \*unzips dick\* instead.
