I can't speak for anyone else here, but I think I'm fine in this regard. Being treated like shit all my life has made me fairly tough.
I go to a lot of other boards here, most often /pol/, and I have no problem talking to people there. I'm not here for a hugbox, you know, and if I ever feel like I'm being coddled, I leave.
I come here to talk to people about more personal things without being yelled at about me blogging.
