Calm down, this project isnt even 3 months old. You arent a bearer of bad news, just the voice of everyone elses common knowledge on this.
>How do we get our community to get more active. You can't start a country with 300 people. Maybe with a couple thousand
You can start a country with just 300 people. They are called micronations and starting one is the whole point of /kountry/

>Plus the majority of people who have signed up can't actually physically help or visit our country if they had the chance.

That's a baseless assumption. You probably do not personally know anyone in on this project.
>We need to generate more tragic and also give people incentives to come and see what all the fuss is about
Did you mean traffic? And we do offer incentive, such as creating and living in a micronation with freedom and adventure.
>We need concise goals
We have goals, read up please
>And funding actually isn't the step we are on right now
We are on this step. Again, have you read anything?
> I can tell you I wouldn't pay for this shit right now. BUT if we voted on a location and asked the owners of said location how much it would take to buy it. THEN I would pay. I WONT PAY FOR SHIT, NO 1 WILL UNLESS we get our shit together.
Then step up and find us some property yourself, that is how we're operating during this preliminary period.

you have to remember that they probably ran those FALs ragged.

there's alot of things to consider when looking at accuracy, not just mechanical, but the shooter and even the sighting system all play a part, and the FAL's stock irons left something to be desired, I'm told.

 No.249[Reply]

I've started doing some research into agriculture and this is what I've come up with so far.

For our staple crop, corn seems to be the best option, especially as we do not yet have a location decided and corn grows well in many climates, especially in most of Africa and parts of the Indian Ocean.

Irrigation is a must as it could potentially double crop yield, and is also not as hard as I would have imagined: https://www.engineeringforchange.org/news/2012/01/23/ten_low_tech_ways_to_irrigate_crops.html

In terms of livestock, unless we somehow capture huge tracts of land it is unlikely we will be able to sustain a decent supply of beef and pork. Chicken is feasible as it is a much smaller animal and can live off corn and a large variety of foods and will of course produce eggs. Though if the area of land we settle in includes some coastline then fishing would be a good source of food, however setting up a proper fishing boat would be expensive. (I've not looked into it in much detail, maybe someone from team 2 knows more about this?)

It is possible that we could keep a small herd of cows for a supply of milk but as I said, cows require a lot of energy and land to rear.

Any thoughts on this?

 No.1538

>>1518

shit, Goats and chickens both are really low maintennance.

some breeds of Chickens can pretty much be left alone to get good and fat on whatever is in the field so long as there's no natural predators.

best part about goats and chickens is that they don't eat the same stuff, and can be raised together without depleting food supplies faster.

much like how you can grow a bunch of foods wihtout really needing to exclude any from the menu.

tomatoes

potatoes

beets

melons

berries, especially blackberries and strawberries

cerials like oats and corn are okay as long as you have a shitload of land to grow it on.

Unsure if rice has been mentioned but most of the worlds rice is produced inside easten asia, so if can get enough land to make some paddy fields, we can use what we need and if have lots left over we can use it to make profit by selling for a good price.

Canadian arms laws are stupid.
To get ANY metal that launches more metal, you have to have a permit, known as a PAL.
Handguns and MUH SALT RIFULS require a R-PAL, which is for RESTRICTED.
Getting pal is easy, getting r-pal for a handgun requires you to NEED one in the eyes of the queen, or whoever runs maple syrup land, like you live in the deeeeep yukon and run into bears often, or work as a judge/other high profile target.
Getting r-pal for an AR? no idea, probably gotta leap through hoops and suck a lot of political dick.

Tl;dr Canada's gun laws are fucked, we'd be better off moving to an abandoned mine in wyoming.

 No.1211[Reply]

I know that the idea of setting up some kickstarter scams has been thrown around for a while.

Why not be more direct with it?

I was thinking we could contact Kickstarter directly to set up a fundraiser for a whole fucking country, with a 10-15 year goal of 20 mil or something(this can be worked out later). I think Kickstarter would love it; the idea of crowd-funding a whole country would be a HUGE news coverage boost to them, bringing in more viewers to their site. It might even go on national news, which would really get our new nation coverage too. If it goes well, i think it will be a win-win for both parties.

However, before we can do this, we need clearly presented material, a written constitution, an island picked out(and a deal made with the country who owns it to sell it to us for x amount of money), and probably city plans and stuff. It would be a good idea to leave out a lot of the PMC stuff until we get that sorted out(kickstarter seems to have a largely liberal fanbase); we should pitch 'maximum freedom' and the like on kickstarter, i believe that would sell well.

I believe that this would work. But like i said, we can't do this now; we need to focus our efforts on these three things:
>find an island that a gov is willing to sell to us
>write the constitution
>plan out the capitol on our new island, including food, water, electricity, and internet.

I think the main thing we need for this to is the deal with kickstarter to heavily 'advertise' this fundraiser, and hopefully get big news corps(cnn, fox, msnbc, bbc) to broadcast it as well. That is the crux of my plan.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Will this even work?

If Jews are to be barred from the /k/ountry, Muslims should also be banned because they believe in crazy shit like blowing themselves up and getting 72 virgins. And Christians should be banned also because they believe in a zombie who used to hang out with a lot of dudes and never had a wife… And Clapistanis should be banned because they're too indoctrinated by their police state… Britbongs and Ausfails should also be banned because they're too noguns to ever fully appreciate a society that is hasguns.

You see how fucking stupid this logic is?

Why not /kountry/ on a boat? Cruise liners, sub marines, trading vessels and battleships are all designed to sustain life for a prolonged amount of time. If we found some way to produce income such as mercenary work or something we could trade for food and medicine. The downside is that most modern navies could destroy us fairly easier. However no matter where in the world we go a modern military could destroy us so I don't see this as a massive downside.

what if we buy a shitload of landing craft and the like, and hire our sealift capabilities out to governments?

then there's the aforementioned machine shop ship.

Really, It'd be really nice to have girls around, with the same interest in this project.

Though I know that'd be complicated because, well, you know, there are around ~110 guys involved in this and I don't think a woman would be interested in being park of something where the ratio M/F is around +100:1.

I really think it would be nice, just for the sake of diversity, same with trans-people, as long as they are useful and willing to learn, everyone should be welcomed.

Oh yeah, no tumblr-like bullshit allowed (a la call me xir), but everyone should be excellent to each other.

On the continued subject of drugs from the town hall meeting(2), SecretaryBird decided to move it to a thread.

It seemed the consensus was "Do your work, don't hurt anyone else", do whatever drugs you want, with the exception of the drugs that take control of your life, and the super drugs that cause you to rip some poor fuckers head off.
As well as protecting children, so we don't get 8 year old dope heads trading their pokemon cards at recess for their next fix.

>Do your work, don't hurt anyone else"

i think you guys pretty much have this spot on.

no drugs during deployment (having a bunch of junkies with rifles is probably a bad idea and will effect PR and contract availability)

no drugs on a civilian job that requires heavy machinery with the potential to cause industrial accidents

no drugs to under 18s

drug use for jobs that don't use heavy machinery should be left up to the employer similar to here in Australia how some bosses bring a slab of beer to work for the boys while others are strictly against it.

Drugs should be available for purchase the same way you can go to a tobacconist. this provents a prison industrial complex forming as well as prevents crime as you will have denied criminals a (very major and pretty much central to their upkeep) market. by having them legal, drugs that prove dangerous for consumption can be tracked to the supplier and a solution brought up.

Under 18 seems a bit high for me, no pun intended.

I'd say sixteen. By fifteen or sixteen, most people, at least where I'm from, have already gotten drunk, high, tripped balls, or a mashup of the three by that age.

I knew by sixteen what the effects of what I put into my body will have, and I was in sound enough mind to make those decisions clearly.

 No.1435

>>1036
Cite your sources, LSD metabolizes out of the body faster than the 12 hours or so that you're actually tripping. Flashbacks are a form of post-traumatic stress. Sorry about your friend, but the explanation you provided is false, and physiologically impossible.

LSD isn't stored in your fat, it doesn't crystallize in your spine, there are absolutely no physical remnants of LSD in your body after using it, and that's sort of a mystery on its own. THC, however, is stored in body fat, which for lardass forum posters is a concern, because you can test positive after months of not smoking.

Your information sounds like a proud DARE graduate's.

 No.1445

I got a couple ideas

If the drug taken is something that is burned or releases some other chemical into the air, it should have to be used in designated areas. (e.g. smoking areas)

If the drug is injected, the needles have to be disposed of in one of those needle disposal bins (like those found in hospitals)

Combining both of these, you can have an specialized area where you can take whatever you want without interfering with others. Maybe the dealers can have this as part of their store/place of business since they won't have to hide anything.

 No.1449

>>1264
I'd argue medically that 21 would be reasonable for "unlimited" usage and under 18 usage would have to be very regulated.

This is coming from someone underage, if that adds any weight to it. Substances are fun, but not when we end up with a generation of fuck ups because of Alcohol related brain damage.
