An urgent matter that needs to be dealt with is finding a visually user-friendly chat room that can support at least 50 participants simultaneously.
Another matter is finding funding for server hosting costs to set up our website with secure encrypted forums / imageboard, etc.
If there are other matters, please raise them in this thread and we'll work towards it one way or another.
I have made Underwatch and Terranull moderator's for /kountry/ in the event that I am unavailable to check in for a few days or whatever. We won't have a repeat of not having an Admin or Mod to clean up when necessary.

Rebuilding
The staff roster needs to be updated to reflect whom and how many of us are still behind this goal. Project Europa
Hey guys, so i remember when this started out in late 2013 or early 2014 and i remember that one yellow flag with a nugget in it and 2 guns.
So does anyone still have the link to the forums that we created ? I'm pretty sure we had our own website where we talked about this stuff and at the end we decided to wait until one anon got all the stuff he needed to create his own weapons factory or his own merc something like that.

Due to the fact that there probably won't be very many people in the /k/ountry I don't think we need to bother with a traditional method of government.
Consider this; with so few people it would be easy for everyone's voice can be heard. I suggest every home having a computer. At the end of every day issues of government (eg taking a contract, spending of funds etc) can be put to a vote by everyone. which ever gets the most votes is the direction the country will take.
An example- A contract is offered to protect aid workers in west africa. At the same time a contract for providing security to a vulnerable US embassy in the middle east is offered as well. The decision is put to a vote at the end of the day. Votes are registered on our secure local area network and the will of the people is seen in real time, not just what the 5 believe the will of the people to be.

For our staple crop, corn seems to be the best option, especially as we do not yet have a location decided and corn grows well in many climates, especially in most of Africa and parts of the Indian Ocean.

In terms of livestock, unless we somehow capture huge tracts of land it is unlikely we will be able to sustain a decent supply of beef and pork. Chicken is feasible as it is a much smaller animal and can live off corn and a large variety of foods and will of course produce eggs. Though if the area of land we settle in includes some coastline then fishing would be a good source of food, however setting up a proper fishing boat would be expensive. (I've not looked into it in much detail, maybe someone from team 2 knows more about this?)
It is possible that we could keep a small herd of cows for a supply of milk but as I said, cows require a lot of energy and land to rear.
Any thoughts on this?

Why not be more direct with it?
I was thinking we could contact Kickstarter directly to set up a fundraiser for a whole fucking country, with a 10-15 year goal of 20 mil or something(this can be worked out later). I think Kickstarter would love it; the idea of crowd-funding a whole country would be a HUGE news coverage boost to them, bringing in more viewers to their site. It might even go on national news, which would really get our new nation coverage too. If it goes well, i think it will be a win-win for both parties.
However, before we can do this, we need clearly presented material, a written constitution, an island picked out(and a deal made with the country who owns it to sell it to us for x amount of money), and probably city plans and stuff. It would be a good idea to leave out a lot of the PMC stuff until we get that sorted out(kickstarter seems to have a largely liberal fanbase); we should pitch 'maximum freedom' and the like on kickstarter, i believe that would sell well.

Why not /kountry/ on a boat? Cruise liners, sub marines, trading vessels and battleships are all designed to sustain life for a prolonged amount of time. If we found some way to produce income such as mercenary work or something we could trade for food and medicine. The downside is that most modern navies could destroy us fairly easier. However no matter where in the world we go a modern military could destroy us so I don't see this as a massive downside.Thoughts?

What we are looking for I think is a community , our own turf where we can build stuff and watch it grow, contribute and of course bear our arms, I propose we start a mine site in Africa ( A good choice in location which ill go into detail later )
I've worked at a mine site for a few years as an equipment operator now , have been reading about the development side of it ( never officially studied mining however ) and I think it embodies what we want . Our site is a big operation and one of the most remote , about 300 people live here at any time, we go to work , come back to the village, have dinner at the mess hall, socialize at the bar then goto our rooms and sleep, all in the middle of the desert.
The next big thing is money, the kind of money we need. We are on the very high end scale of production and our 60 man crew produce about 2 million dollars worth of ore a day.
Anyway even though its a very very expensive and complicated operation , this is because generally its only done on large scale but at the end of the day can be broken down to these procedures. There are other ways such as underground which differs slightly ( is more complicated , less production but much much less startup and running cost so is something to look at)
1.Exploration, find prospective ground and orebody.
2.Define orebody through drilling and sampling.
3.Drill out level in grid pattern, load with explosive, blast.
4.Load blasted material in dump trucks with excavator.
5.haul material up ramp and drop into crusher.
6.Leach gold from crushed material with weak cyanide solution, the method which Im thinking of is called heap leaching, which you basically just make a big pile on a plastic liner and use sprinklers to spray the pile, it then drains down and collects in pond.
7.Pump pond solution through columns filled with activated carbon ( charcoal ) gold is absorbed into the carbon.
8. repeat steps 3,4,5 for next level.
Obviously Im simplifying the procees a lot and it will still need a fair bit of money but if we could get the idea working then hopefully use the revenue to start scaling up.
To give you an idea a low grade mine is considered to be around 1g of gold per ton of ore. This means with a perfect recovery or bad 50% recovery of 2g per ton ore should yield about $5000 of gold for a swimming pool size of ore we dig out.
Now finding a gold deposit can be tricky but I mentioned Africa is a good choice because not many companies want to go there because of the risk, this is where our kountrymen come in because we will need an armed security detail at all times. Because it hasnt been as thouroughly explored finding a deposit ( also higher grade, and shallower ) should be easier. Even so , as I said companies generally only go big, Im talking at least 5 - 10 billion dollars and 20 year plans before they decide to build a mine, as a result , some smaller deposits are ignored, a small deposit could be 50 million dollars worth of gold though, and because we are not paying for labour ( at the start ) and trying to slowly do everything ourselves we should be able to save heaps in costs.
It will be hard make no mistake, But it would be an adventure and something that would only require a smaller crew of dedicated people to start off rather then getting 500 neets to catch a plane to africa and start setting up tents with no purpose.
Also it will be much more legal than attempting to declare a new country , I actually looked into it in my country and found a small deposit but the laws are a nightmare, I think the laws are a lot less strict in Africa or either a lot less enforced.

Our site is a big operation and one of the most remote , about 300 people live here at any time, we go to work , come back to the village, have dinner at the mess hall, socialize at the bar then goto our rooms and sleep, all in the middle of the desert.
The next big thing is money, the kind of money we need. We are on the very high end scale of production and our 60 man crew produce about 2 million dollars worth of ore a day.
Anyway even though its a very very expensive and complicated operation , this is because generally its only done on large scale but at the end of the day can be broken down to these procedures. There are other ways such as underground which differs slightly ( is more complicated , less production but much much less startup and running cost so is something to look at)
1.Exploration, find prospective ground and orebody.
2.Define orebody through drilling and sampling.
3.Drill out level in grid pattern, load with explosive, blast.
4.Load blasted material in dump trucks with excavator.
5.haul material up ramp and drop into crusher.
6.Leach gold from crushed material with weak cyanide solution, the method which Im thinking of is called heap leaching, which you basically just make a big pile on a plastic liner and use sprinklers to spray the pile, it then drains down and collects in pond.
7.Pump pond solution through columns filled with activated carbon ( charcoal ) gold is absorbed into the carbon.
8. repeat steps 3,4,5 for next level.
Obviously Im simplifying the procees a lot and it will still need a fair bit of money but if we could get the idea working then hopefully use the revenue to start scaling up.
To give you an idea a low grade mine is considered to be around 1g of gold per ton of ore. This means with a perfect recovery or bad 50% recovery of 2g per ton ore should yield about $5000 of gold for a swimming pool size of ore we dig out.
Now finding a gold deposit can be tricky but I mentioned Africa is a good choice because not many companies want to go there because of the risk, this is where our kountrymen come in because we will need an armed security detail at all times. Because it hasnt been as thouroughly explored finding a deposit ( also higher grade, and shallower ) should be easier. Even so , as I said companies generally only go big, Im talking at least 5 - 10 billion dollars and 20 year plans before they decide to build a mine, as a result , some smaller deposits are ignored, a small deposit could be 50 million dollars worth of gold though, and because we are not paying for labour ( at the start ) and trying to slowly do everything ourselves we should be able to save heaps in costs.
It will be hard make no mistake, But it would be an adventure and something that would only require a smaller crew of dedicated people to start off rather then getting 500 neets to catch a plane to africa and start setting up tents with no purpose.
Also it will be much more legal than attempting to declare a new country , I actually looked into it in my country and found a small deposit but the laws are a nightmare, I think the laws are a lot less strict in Africa or either a lot less enforced.

My suggestion would be mainland sub-saharan Africa. The millitaries there are much weaker for a start. As well as this, even if a small amount of infra structure is already in place that would be very useful to us when starting up.
The benefits of a populated area are that there is already a workforce, native Africans would probably work as farmhands for what is the equivalent of a few dollars a day, and could also be used for other manual labor. The workers would be almost a slave labor force and we would be able to expel them once we no longer had need of them.
In case we really upset an African nation then we could look for support from rivals nations or from militias that are trying to overthrow the current nation's government.

#4 Have the best assessment to make educated decisions in the creation of our own independent Private Security Company. (aka PMC)
We've spoke on the instructors at the Training Facility have complete confidence in their capability of helping us accomplish the above goals. They are more of a "family" than a rigid company and have stated that if I and the other Marine fit in well we can become part of their community.
This well aid us greatly in obtaining contact information for potential investors, employers/contractors, and even possibly for our own recruitment. It has already been said that if we meet their expectations they will gladly vouch for us and lend themselves as references in the future. The weight of their facility as a positive reference for us in the future is more valuable that I can put into words.
The gofundme at the bottom has been calculated to cover cost of housing, food, and training courses for Two Marines for 1 full year so that we may focus the entire time, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week on training.

Something beyond lining our pockets; is that all we want to give our children and grandchildren? I think not.
I say we live and work under some kind of philosophy. Since outer heaven/haven is supposed to be some idea of being a truly free and unfettered ideal, I have picked a name for now. I call it Empyreanism: in summary, the philosophy of being the pinnacle of what a country can rise to: a free society that has concise, clear, minimally restrictive law that the common man can understand, yet does not chain down the people and has only a few conditions that needs to be fulfilled.

Should be the first things on our minds, to deal with how things like waste are removed from apartments and made safe enough to be dumped somewhere or reused
>Electricity
Could be made from waste material like fermenting fecal matter in a biodigester and getting methane gas to power generators, Solar panels, Growing Algae to deal with not only carbon emissions but also give us fuel and livestock feed
>Agriculture
Aquaponics takes up the least amount of space for the highest yield at the lowest cost and can cover all of our basic food needs.
>Economy
Should be based more than just firearm related means, I have a few ideas for kit aircraft and an international organization that deals with emissions from factories (by scrubbing the smog through various filters, one of those being a bubble tank [smog goes in from the bottom and solid matter is caught in the water, gas escapes from the top] then using the carbon dioxide to feed an algae bank)

It should be first and formost a meritocracy.
Even had the government system set up to be a meritocratic society based on facts, research and not general apathy, ignorance and emotional games.
The only people who are willing AND actually care about the general public would be able to be a politician, making the selection very small and keeping the senate small as well.
I really believe that together, we can make this a reality, but only with the right tools at our fingertips, the right ideas to help this become a reality and the right mindset and set of skills needed to keep this thing going.

Suggestion for raising funds
How about some of us do a online (maybe even storefront, if someone feels like it) trader/store that sells stuff that would be stalker-esque in what is being sold, or even something that is done on ebay and auction off stuff. If more than one person likes this idea, hit me up. Half of profits go to some kind of fund, and the other half is divided up based on how it was or who (plural?) sold it.

Obviously this is a mammoth task but just brainstorming a few things as we'll have a decent amount of manpower for labor.
Perhaps the design of things could be outsourced , there are plenty of indian graduates out there with masters in mechanical engineering but no job, they could be persauded by a few thousand dollars to design our equipment or qt least point us in the right direction.
At the very minimum we'll need artillery , the 88mm guns with good optics were devastating in ww2.
Quantity over quality instead of 2 well made tanks a 100 armoured 4wds with hmgs , bulk ammo and onboard computers with gps datalink , would be highly mobile and probably very effective

As far as I understood, location is not very clear yet. The way I see it is that it has to be purchased. A tiny corner of a poor 3rd world country. The more corrupt the easier. So. I've seen a number of threads related to fund-raising and other activities to get ourselves some money to build this up. This morning, I was listening to the radio, when I heard something particularly interesting, and it reminded me of something else I'd seen in here suggesting we support Houthi rebels in Yemen in exchange for a good price on a boat or boats they have captured. That idea was scrapped, but I think it could be a step in an interesting direction. I propose that one thing we could consider doing is attempting to secure an export permit for "light" body armor (Level 3 Steel, Ceramic, Poly, and soft armor), and sell it at a relatively low markup to someone that will earn us more international brownie points, specifically, the Kurdish Peshmerga. If we play it correctly, we could earn money, secure a good relationship with the Kurds, earn a lot of PR points, and potentially get some credit for "fighting terrorism", though I doubt the last one.
Of course, this would be somewhat risky. We'd need someone to make contact, arrange the sales, secure export permits, and probably import permits, and then still if it goes badly we could lose money, or, in the worst case, indirectly supply the PKK and have Turkey (and therefore NATO) very irate with us.
Just a potential option. For the sake of a measurable consensus:

Practically no one would come into contact with you there, so long as you stay deep in the mountains. Detroit is falling apart, and Buildings are VERY cheap; so we could get a 3 level apartment building for like 4 grand.

My main plans for the whole operation are as follows:
1. Organize several face-to-face meetups and communicate online regularly. Start saving up rainy day funds and the like for possible scouting trips but keep it pretty casual. Heavy research period on law, land, money, firearms, and the like.
2. Once we've met, become professional if not friendly, we begin to see who wants to, is able, and is willing to do a scouting mission wherever we may find the island. This is why I said to save the rainy day funds. It'll probably be a team of 2-5 people scouting a pretty decently sized island. If someone owns a plane or boat, that'd be ideal.
There should be four scouting trips in the middle of each season to gauge the temperament and accessibility of the weather and surrounding ecosystem. This will allow us to make geographic maps, make soil samples, make clearings and maybe an airstrip for next time, etc.

1. I'm interested in joining but I am an unoriginal faggot when it comes to code names/ aliases. Should we decide on an official code name system/generator for recruits?
2.Should we instate a fitness requirement? I have a feeling that most people interested are not prepared physically. Seeing as this is something planned for the long term maybe we can get a /fit/fag to make a long term workout plan. I can just imagine a meetup where everyone that shows up is obese or a skeletor.
