Post the question "Why did that guy get banned?" or EVEN "hey, where did my post go?!", that's a paddling.

I mean, FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU…- … mouthing off at moot, at the mods was the whole reason halfchan was good once (inb4…), because moot never took himself too seriously.
Of course, some of it isn't his fault: it's the new owners. He was just the puppet that instituted all the new rules for the hypersensitive children taking over.

4chan mods need to chill out, 4chan isn't serious business, it's fucking 4chan. You just go there to casually discuss shit anonymously, there's no need for so many rules and such strict moderation. There's a point where you have to tell the user base to stop being such pussies and stop reporting inoffensive shit which wastes janitor/moderators' time (I blame /q/ for permanently ruining 4chan in this way).
Just check out the bans page and see how many of those bans make sense. Personally I find the scope and length ridiculous most of the time, very few rules need to result in global bans and very few should last more than 24 hours. Ban evasion bans makes 0 fucking sense because in order to ban evade you need a dynamic IP and if you have a dynamic IP you're not going to serve a ban evasion ban because you have the ability to evade bans in the first place, the punishment and rule just defy logic. The fact that I've gotten blocked for ban evasion at least 5 times and banned once while being on the same IP just proves that there's a serious problem with the way this rule is enforced or a serious lack of communication between janitors and mods.
Anyway, they desperately need to overhaul the rules, the punishments and the moderation system in general, people would evade bans a lot less if they weren't banned for stupid shit and if the bans weren't so long and often times site wide. If they fix that they'll find that they don't need to hire new janitors every 6 months.

I always felt the mods should be very lenient on kpg 'off topic' for the simple fact that there really isn't an area on that site to discuss random Korean things to an audience that would actively participate in the discussion (one rare exception are the occassional korean drama/movie threads on /tv/ that generally get derailed with "lol stupid chinks" posts). As long as it isn't breaking a major rule (porn, cp, etc.) it should really be left alone - especially since it is rare that kpg shit leaks out of kpg.

it's not that my bans feel undeserved, because they are technically offtopic. it's that 285 of the 300 posts in the thread could be offtopic and only a select few (almost always mine) will be deleted and banned. even more fun is when you get the 15 minute warning and then they wait 9-10 hours to ban you in the middle of the night so your ban expires at 5:00AM local time
i'm thinking they target people that don't ban evade, since that way the bans actually feel worth something. or maybe you guys are right and it's just people or things that they do not like.
