How bizarre is it that the original Postal got a complete Japanese localization including a widespread physical distribution?

 No.1879

>Okay no one knows exactly what this is, so we assume it's a mod (or maybe an -unofficially licensed add-on, or maybe it was just that irrelevant no one remembers).

This was reported by Toploader back in 2012, when this was brought up in the RWS Forums.

So, no clue where this came from, but yeah - it's pretty interesting.

For anyone who's curious, you can get the bonus levels that came with this version, with information on how to enable them in-game, here:

And you can get a rip of the Japanese audio here:

Sorry, chief, from the very thread you first linked to:
http://www.postalnation.net/archives/pn0507/0501_articles/10thAnniversary.php

>April 1999, Micro Mouse of Japan licenses the exclusive rights to POSTAL for Japan

>PN: I heard about this SUPER POSTAL, what can you reveal us about this all time japanese version?
>Vince: Well, its really cool to hear young girls scream in Japanese. It also includes new levels based on Tokyo and Osaka. We worked with a Japanese publisher named MicroMouse based in Tokyo, they have a real good appreciation for what POSTAL is all about, FUN!

Ah, good man! That's what I get for only skimming across old threads, and not paying attention.

Good find though, glad we've got that info sorted out.

The question is, when will the touhou mods come out for it?

Side note, suggestion for the Postal Remake, make it easy to mod. That'd be nice.

Only when you start making them, silly.

>Vince: We added all new characters to fit the Japanese culture, for example High School teenage girls are a real pop culture fetish.

Anyone know if they translated the loading screens?
If so are they available?

I'll let you know once I actually see what the the loading screen text is.

All I've seen is the artwork, and it's pretty rad.

I found this gameplay video of the Tokyo level. I didn't try it myself because the load level option doesn't exist in the current Steam build

I also came across this great video:

The loading screen text is in the levels INI file, so right here:

>10/20/99 The footprint you see; Godzilla has formed for you; your city laid waste.
But who knows if it's the real deal

Vince has a nice house. Seems like a nice place to live.
