"Dude who asked about console ports again"

I have a few questions

Could the player kill the children initially on Postal 1?

Is Postal 1 canon?

How can I open .mesh files from postal 1 to see the 3D models?

You guys can't convice Valve to remove Postal 3 from Steam? As far as I recall, akella wouldn't allow it.

Can you share any info about Postal 2 development such as beta weapons (like explosive shotgun), plot, postal dude original outfit and etc…?

Any info of Postal 1 in Brazil? I think it was supposedly banned, Postal 2 was released here by Bowl Software years later, after a unusual six month rating process, while it usually takes two weeks.

Sorry if i am annoying you guys.

Well you sure are an inquisitive fellow. You could have just posted these in your previous thread, though. Don't spam pls!

I'll answer what I can. I'll also direct this thread up the RWS chain of command, and have someone respond to some of them more in detail!

>Could the player kill the children initially on Postal 1?

No.

>Is Postal 1 canon?

Postal doesn't really have a canon per se. If it did, though then sure. It's canon. Why not.

>How can I open .mesh files from postal 1 to see the 3D models?

Fuck if I know. I don't think you can, though(??).

>You guys can't convice Valve to remove Postal 3 from Steam? As far as I recall, akella wouldn't allow it.

You just answered your own question, amigo!

No clue on those last two questions, though.

Thank you based Flan, about the Postal 3 question, sorry if I wasn't clear, I was asking if RWS couldn't convince Valve as they probably know that RWS is the real owner of the series, and that maybe even they are aware of what actually happened.

About the canon question, so the sequels only use the some points of the predecessor as canon, and not the rest of it?

RWS still own Postal as an IP, but it was licensed to Akella for Postal 3. P3 is their game, they own it, they control it, they call all the shots. :(

>so the sequels only use the some points of the predecessor as canon, and not the rest of it?

Well, when I say there's no Canon, I mean - nobody actually gives a shit about maintaining any sort of continuity for the series. The guys just sort of make shit up as they go along. Who cares if one game is canon and one isn't? Who cares about the continuity of Postal? Who cares if a plot point in one game contradicts another? It doesn't matter. There's no official canon.

So, the games can be as canon as you want them to be personally. You can decide that all, none or some of them are canon. I like to believe that they all are. It's all in the eye of the beholder!

I got it, it was kinda weird to me, as dude made a hell on earth on Postal 1, and 3 was discarded as canon by RWS.

I didn't know that Postal 3 rights ended in such way, shame, but why did RWS outsource it? Did they need a bigger team?

Well, RWS had worked with Akella before - they published and distributed Postal 1 & 2 in Russia. Akella was a pretty big company with a lot of resources at the time, and RWS trusted them at the time. So it only made sense to work with them to make the next Postal.

But then things turned out as they did, and Akella gave all of us the silent treatment.

Well, that's a shame, good luck with the "Dev-made" patch.

Looking in a thread above about OP being unable to finish an mission, you said that there were some cutscenes that played in the incorrect order, I never played Postal 3, I knew it was a PoS, but never tought that it was literally like Big Rigs.

Also, I tought initially that the reason for P3 to be on Steam was some sorta of "think of an donation instead of buying this shit", it was kinda weird since RWS hated it so much to the point of making fun and removing from the store, until you revealed that the responsible for being on Steam is Akella.

Did RWS help at all on P3?
I thought it was all Akella?

Why have a P3 game made at all? I thought RWS just made Postal 1 and 2 because they were bored one day and it seemed fun, but RWS was sort of a side thing and they just went back to some other work when they were done?

why you can't add other language versions for postal 2?

I'm fairly sure there is a Japanese version of Postal 2.

That being said, keep in mind that the game initially was banned in many countries, and recording new voices would cost a good amount of dosh.

There's a full polish translation that was a big part of my childhood. Oto bilecik!
