The GoG version's multiplayer should work. Since the MP on all releases haven't been updated in a while, it should still be compatible with the steam release. You could also download StP directly from ModDB because it's free.

Yeah, multiplayer works fine across all versions, even non-steam. Only problem is that P2 used Gamespy, which is kill now. So you're not gonna be able to load the master server list, and need to IP connect to what server you want to play on. Shitty if you want to just jump into a random game but don't know any servers, but you should be fine for participating in our weekly multiplayer sessions (check the sticky).

If you have a non-steam version, you can still access the master server by editing a line in Postal2.ini .

Just find the line that says ServerActors=IpDrv.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900 and change it to ServerActors=IpDrv.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master.333networks.com MasterServerPort=27900. I learned that when I was setting up the server, you might want to add that info to the sticky.

There's also another instance of master.gamespy.com you have to change under [UBrowserAll]. After that the master server list should load.

That game was kinda lame, knock off of D2 with a boring story line. But the multi player was interesting and better mechanics than D2 pvp.
