If you haven't seen yet, /v/ has been having some fun with JanusVR, the VR browser designed for the rift.

ANYWAY, it uses low-poly avatars with the head and body seperated, and the default selection are painfully cute chiii shit.

So, how much work is it to export the stuff from Postal 2, split them into head+body, and convert them to the right format – obj+mtl – to use with this shit?

Or is that too much to ask? I don't know how to deal with 3D modelling at all, other than maybe load something into Blender and resave it without touching it because OH GOD I BROKE IT.

But seriously, how much work is it to at least get the muslim terrorist avatar out?

(I have no idea what those grey blocks are on the screenshot, some artifact of the screenshot process I guess?)

Is that an opensource Second Life or the return of Worlds?

A "very unorganized" set containing all P2 character assets in max format.

Dunno how useful that is, but for someone who knows what they're doing, this might be handy. You could probably convert them to whatever you need.

Why is RWS so based?

Fuck, that looks cool.

I'll see what I can do with it.

The program we're fucking with in /v/ is JanusVR http://janusvr.com/

It's not open source (yet, they seem to be considering it), but it's basically a 3D browser specifically designed for the Rift. So it has all the thingamabob shit to deal with head tracking and position and shit that the Rift does.

It's far less complex than SL or anything, it really just reads off an XML tree linking some obj files together and renders it. The cool thing is that you can see other people if they are looking at the same VR sites as you.

neway, thanks, I'm gonna download this and see what I can do with this. i appreciate it.
