My only experiences with the series comes from Postal 3 which is shit. What differences are there between the none postal 3 and postal 2 and should I get 2?
No.532
>>531Postal 3 is shit and should be disregarded. 2 is a pretty solid classic and 1 is vastly different in both gameplay and style. Time hasn't been kind to it, but it's still an interesting play at least once. Since there's a remake coming out for it soon though, you might just wanna wait for that.

>>531Well first off Postal 2 was made by RWS and to my knowledge had no involvement from a third party. Add to that, RWS still supports it and updates it, with new content being in development.
The game itself is quite solid with no horrible bugs that I know of. Only drawback would be the dated graphics if that is something that bothers you.

I have played Postal 3 and it's fucking horrible compared to the greatness that is Postal 2.
Yes, you should get it, in particular if you like unpolitically correct humor and just fucking around. I remember playing it in 2003 and then an extended edition in 2007 and it was rather fun.
Also I remember an horror mod campaign that was well done albeit a bit unbalanced. Can't remember the name but I liked that.

Postal 1 - 'run around, kill as much as you can' arcade - fun
Postal 2 - '5 days in city overflowed with crazy people and weapons' sandbox - endless fun
Postal 2 Apocalypse Weekend - 'get out of the city' fps - fun
Postal 2 Apocalypse Week mod - all good parts of Apocalypse Weekend merged into Postal 2

Bought Postal 2 a few days ago while it was on a Steam Sale. And I gotta say: Money well spent.
The game does have its fair share of bugs (especially some very annoying CTDs), but these generally are outweighed by how hilariously absurd and politically incorrect the game is.
You want to ram a shotgun up a cat's asshole and subsequently use the feline as a silencer (that meows with every shot?) Can do.
You want to literally piss at someone until the poor asshole is vomiting up his lung?
Can do.
You want a Gary Coleman autograph?
Can do.
You want to go through the entire game without harming a single fly?
Can do, but it's difficult.

>>583The expansion is only good for adding weapons and content to the weekdays, imo. The weekend playthrough is a horrible experience. A chore doesn't even begin to describe it.

Yes. It's good if you can handle ehh graphics and some loading zones.
I wonder why did you even start with 3, to be honest, because it was made by fucking Akella which automatically equals any game to shit. I also remember physical version at least here in Russia having a fucking StarForce.

They actually translated every texture with text on it and managed to adapt most of the jokes really good(hence the mistranslations)
Except starforce on the game itself. That is a fucking sin of every russian publisher except maybe Fargus No.1314
Postal 2's a classic.

>>598> because it was made by fucking Akella which automatically equals any game to shiti played their pirates of the Caribbean game on the original xbox, it wasn't shit. wasn't great either. but it was fun to shoot other ships with a cannon though.
but otherwise your opinion stands.

>>598I think I preordered it, never got my physical copy and RWS ultimately gave me a steam key for the game. Was kind of pissed at them before, but hearing that it isn't their fault now not so much.

Holy shit if so they're fucking great. What the hell happened?

Starforce and stubbornness happened, they couldn't compete with Steam that sold same games at better prices and without shit DRM - even though sometimes it meant literally a crack being included because there was no other way around.
