So I just bought the Steam release of Postal 2, started a POSTAL difficulty run, and gosh; this is very different from AWP!
Are many of the power weapons introduced in AWP still in the game? Have said surviving power weapons been cordoned off exclusively to the later days? Are cutting weapons (generally) as powerful as they were in AWP? Will I still be able to visit the crossroads and school, and play the Fag Hunter arcade game? Does wearing a police uniform still prevent bystanders from shooting on sight? On what day can you first get a police uniform again?

Mostly, they're hidden quite well too.

Yes, and so does the gimp suit, however the police uniform doesn't exist in POSTAL mode.

Also they're hidden quite well and you can't access most of them until Wednesday or Thursday.

Okay~ I finished my POSTAL difficulty run!
Postal 2 on Steam is pretty disappointing after AWP! In AWP the highest difficulty was a challenging, rewarding experience demanding precise map knowledge and careful planning of one's routes from weapons stash to weapons stash, while in the Steam release with many of the stashes (and the weapons and items they contain) either removed from the game entirely or just cordoned off until later days (so much for a difficulty curve, right?), enemies toned down (to compensate for a weaker player character?) to a level that would make it too easy with AWP's greater arsenal but still much too hard (not challenging; hard) without, and with health reduced from a game of tense resource management (of the inventory items kind) to largely just a matter of random drops from kills, this run really just proved to be a grind for the most part!
