Break the Border is a fan made art book that came out for the 20th anniversary of the anime.

Also there's no need to be angry about the ps1 game. It's a reproduction I bought for 30 bucks. I doubt my entire collection costs much more than 200.

It's a really nice rip though, nice enough to fool people on the internet if I wanted to. It even has a facsimile of the original manual that I can't find scans of anywhere. I don't really buyfag for bragging rights and I don't actually have that much money.

do you know of anything rare? i think ive seen everything there is to see with lain, except for scenario experiments

Probably not rare but I want to get my hands on the Serial Experiments Lain Ultimate Fan Guide, mostly for the stats and information for use with the BESM rpg system. I heard that there are only partial scans out there somewhere but I can't even find those. Also, the guy that made the Thought Experiments Lain web page helped do research for it and has his name in the credits apparently.

>>507

when i heard about this i immediately thought it would be a massive piece of shit, and all information i've found about it so far has confirmed my bias that it really is an absolute piece of garbage waste of money and time. how are those stats even remotely useful, btw? aren't they completely arbitrary? (and hey, aren't those scans from ScenarioEL? cheeeap cheap cheap cheap)

>>509

I know exactly what I'm in for and I still want to read it. No original art in the book as far as I understand. Even the guy they got the research from didn't give it a great review. What made me want to look into this is that I inherited the BESM sailor moon sourcebook from a female relative years ago and it's everything you could expect and more. I have a morbid curiosity to see what these same people could have done with Lain.
