Should /lang/ get its own custom CSS?
No.510
Yes, but it should be minimal and feel natural, unlike most custom CSS boards. Almost like reading out of a book.
No.515
How minimal is too minimal in your opinion?
I like the look of
>>>/min/ but I'm not sure it would be appropriate for this board
No.520
It's about time this board started picking up. It should be the central hub meeting place for all the other language forums.
See if you can get /lojban/ as well.

I made a few changes to the stylesheet. The most obvious one was reducing the width of the body to a max of 728px, in order to improve readability (make it easier to focus on the text). The general consensus among the experts seems to be that the optimal line length is between 50-70 characters (including spaces), however that might be too drastic of a change for people used to the normal layout, so the current line length is 105 characters. Line height was also increased for the same reason. The "allowed file types/max filesize/max image dimensions" settings were hidden to reclaim some vertical space.
I've left the colour scheme unchanged for now because there's nothing wrong with it and I would probably just mess it up.
Let me know what you think about the new look, I'm open to suggestions.
No.541
Sorry, this is just my personal opinion but I don't like the two big empty space that appear now on my screen.
No.546
>>541No need to apologise, your opinions are exactly what I want to hear. If it turns out that the community prefers the old layout, with the text stretching all across the page, I'll change it back.
No.547
>>546Ok, it's just that I don't reject customization in principle. But you don't have to go full retard like the guys at /cyber/.
No.548
>>547In the case of /cyber/ I think it makes sense (to have a heavily customised layout) since aesthetics is a big part of their culture, although there were probably better ways to implement it.
No.553
Another thing I'm thinking about, is whether it'd be a good idea to enable captchas (for thread creation only, not replies), as a safety measure against spammers and bots. Would you guys be opposed to this?
No.559
>>553That sounds fine but is there that much spam?
No.561
>>559At the moment no, and it seems to be done manually. However both /furry/ and /cyber/ were attacked by spam bots and all their threads were deleted (pushed off the catalog). At the moment our only defence against bots and raids is a setting that limits the amount of threads that can be made per hour to 10.

Flags with corners now!

Is there anything you'd change about the current style?

No.622
>>621sigh Okay. I guess I'm the only one who liked that style
