So, i've noticed this on quite a few other boards, but this one most of all (probably just because it's my main, but still). I've seen a distinct decline in the quality of content on /late/ and other boards. I remember the olden days when there was all kinds of comfy stuff here. I could just scroll down and instantly find all kinds of good threads, but nowadays it takes a long while and even going to other pages of the board to find anything i give a shit about. it could just be the fact that it's changed since when I first came here, or the way my own life has changed since then, or just the slightly decreased traffic, but still, something feels off about /late/ now. and not in any good way. any other anons feeling this?

 No.2348

Less people I think for a start. Stale content has been here for longer than it has in the past.

 No.2371

You know I was thinking about this the other day. We have a lot of dead threads hanging around. Pretty much everything past page three is a wasteland due to the nuke. Most of the OPs have no image anymore so if someone new shows up and checks the catalog the first thing that they see is what looks like a ton of spam. That isn't a great way to leave a first impression. And personally I don't really like to bump the old threads because without their images the thread just feels kind of... barren. I'm glad that we were able to save what could be saved but at same time I can't help but wonder if we would have had an easier time getting the board back on it feet if we were to have stared fresh.

I don't know, just my two cents.

If you guys would like me to clear out some of the old threads, I could do that.

Please do

 No.2378

I know a lot of people that stopped going to the board when it was nuked at first.

the capcha isn't helping things on here much

You mean the 24 hour captcha?

 No.2382

>>2376

Alright, I will do it. I'm just worried about losing some history, so I will archive them first.

 No.2396

>>2378

if you actually know them via something other than 8chan, telling them it's back up might get us some more traffic.

also the captcha shouldn't affect the traffic of any particular board more than others, it's a one-a-day thing

An archive of this board is available here:

https://archive.is/https://8ch.net/late/*

I'm pruning everything past the 4th page.

Pruning complete.

Possibly 8ch quality going down too.

What would you guys think of /late/ moving off 8ch? Pretty much the same, except no longer an 8chan board.

Well to be fair it is the end of the school year for most college kids (who do make up the majority of 8chan posters)

Give it a week or two

Also i think we should remake the /late/ skype call

 No.2503

>>2489

it was just a chatroom or something along those lines but yeah, maybe the the new BO could make it if they have skype. i could do it but it'd take some figuring out.

as for moving off 8chan, i'm not sure there's anything that would support this kind of board as well as what we've got now, even with the decreasing quality. it'd be pretty cool if we could find something suitable though

I have something in mind, it is just a matter of interest and willingness to move.

don't know about the rest of /late/, but i'd totally be willing to move if you found a nice replacement. my only concern is the possibility of actually having to pay for a site somewhere else.
